You might try asking in the Planeshift IRC channel #Planeshift. They might know what to do. I'm not sure if you need a GM or Dev.

I can see Evest is still in the database. Try logging in #planeshift-gmtalk to solve the issue.

First of all you need an IRC client (there are many open source client, just download one for your OS), then take a look at here: http://www.planeshift.it/IRC (http://www.planeshift.it/IRC).

FireFox has chatZilla app that works good and is easy to use.

Hello simrec.

One question. You told me you remember the email adress of your old char Evest account. Can you still acess to this email box ? If so you can ask for a password change with the usual " i don't remember my pass" process, already.

If you use point 1) on the IRC page, you do not even need to download a client.

Just saying...  ;)

Please note the irc network address chat.freenode.net, putting freenode.net into the address bar of a browser will give you some relevant information as to how it works. use chat.freenode.net in the irc client to connect.

OK guys..thanks for the replies

I am an old git

I dont understand about IRC. I have tried and I can't make it work

What I would like is someone to give me an easy way to talk to somebody who can give me access to my char

He is there in the database cos several GM's have found him..name is Evest

Why is it so difficult to get someone to just give me access

One Gm even gave me the 1st 7 letters of my password and still wouldnt give me access

Maybe because it looks like you are trying to access someone else's account? How many more characters would your password have?
If you think those 7 characters lets you know the correct password it may not be working due to a password hash update that happened some time ago.  To fix that particular problem try to login   here.  (http://planeshift.teamix.org/myplane/)That should rehash the password and allow you to login to the game.

BTW IRC is so old it is almost obsolete.

But IRC invented hashtags! They're all the rage these days!

And using IRC is so simple. Small free dedicated clients are available in dozens. The Mozilla SeaMonkey suite provides chatZilla. Good old Opera browser up to v12 included a client. Many websites even offer web chat clients in-page.
