Linux distribution
« on: May 29, 2002, 11:28:54 am »
Hi,

I saw how the Linux distribution only comes in RPM flavor. I hate that, since I\'d much rather just have a tarball. My system isn\'t rpm based. Could we not just have a tarball distribution as well?

Isn\'t there some way to grab a tar from an rpm?
Why am I asking? I know there is, though I don\'t recall what it is... :P

Well, my rpm is rather old and doesn\'t support RPM 4 format. I\'d like to avoid having to install anything rpm-related. :) Just having access to the psclient binary would suffice too, since I could just grab the rest from the Windows distribution.

hi..

perhaps you could try the cvs-version of planeshift.

check http://www.planeshift3d.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=944&boardid=17&styleid=2

for the howto.

unfortunately, the cvs-client did not work with the public server last time i tried (2 days ago).
