I\'m running Fedora Core 3 Linux. I\'ve played PlaneShift a lot these last days. (in the game, I\'m \'Celedip Budol\'). Now that I run the game, and try connecting to the server, I get that message.
Psupdater doesn\'t help anything.
Can someone help me out?
EDIT: I also just tried this: http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=15663&boardid=17&styleid=2
And using the CVS from sourceforge. Neither helped.

Whatever you did it is not the right binary. I am using it myself and it is the
correct version of psclient. Are you sure you renamed and replaced that
binary correctly?

Regards.

I renamed the new one from psclient to psclient-bin, then in /usr/lib/psclient, I deleted psclient-bin and put in the new one.

lol...you\'re supposed to update it, you know...
Really, does PS just magically update itself from time to time?  Go to PS Updater and click on \"Update.\"

And if I\'m wrong...then oh well.

I\'m having the same issue, I\'ve also tried suggested alternative binary, but it just segfaults. My version seems to be the latest known version (0.3.008) so what could be the problem?
I just downloaded PlaneShift (the 0.3.007 package) today and ran the updater which got me to 008 just fine. Only thing that caught my attention during update was this:
Code: [Select]
Your updater version is older than the server\'s..I get this message even when running the updater afterwards when it seemingly reports that all is up-to-date, except that line. This looks like a linux specific bug, otherwise I\'m sure more users would see this.

I said in the first post that it didn\'t help.

Yeah. I hope planeshift\'s authors fix it soon.
