Linux Client unreadable Character Creation Screen
« on: December 05, 2002, 11:04:29 pm »
Using the Linux Client, I get good sound (after removing the semi) and the initial screen looks fine.  When I click on \"Create\", however,  I\'m taken to a screen that looks rather like a checkerboard on crack with some barely readable white text that looks like the text that belongs on the character creation page. Sound still works, and random clicking makes \"selecting\" sounds, but I can\'t see well enough through the checkerboarding to make a character at all. I\'ve tried varying the color depth and the resolution.  I\'ve tried both OpenGL and Software video modes.  It\'s still no-go.

System Specs:
Gentoo Linux with a 2.4.19 Kernel
KDE3 for the WM
500 Mhz PIII, 512Mg Ram
Nvidia 16mg AGP TNT w/ Nvidia drivers for Linux
