Need Help Testing Forum Registration
« on: October 19, 2009, 09:17:57 am »
Hi.

We've got some reports with users having some issues trying to register on the forums.  Most reporting not getting their email confirmation.  I activated a bunch of accounts from the last month so but need a few people ( using different email addresses ) to try to register new accounts to see what the issue is.  If you do please post what address you used and if it worked or not.  You don't need to give the total address just the domain ( ie everything after the @ ).  I want to see if there is some common element here that is blocking the emails.

Thanks,

Hello

@googlemail.com - OK - I registered about 5 weeks ago with a googlemail account - I think the registration mail ended up in the spamfilter there.
@gmx.de - FAILED - No activation email within an hour and neither in spamfilter. I will check again tomorrow and edit this post if something changes. Oh, and please delete the Sen_ps account again.

I tried...it's been a couple of hours...no email.   :(

I tried using a comcast.net address.  I checked the spam folder, it's not there either.

@inMail.cz (or @inmail.cz) both versions work, i'm using the first because of original server name (I got activation from game server but not from forum)
5 times I tried to resend and I got no mail with activation (by the way, thanks for manual activation)
I tested between 14th to 20th October. After I found that I can already login without activation, I stopped my resending activity.

Two registrations to a german 1&1 hosted server (different domains, same server) arrived instantly (@holzon.de / @12angebote.de).

Now I need help with the server_report.xml :D

successfully registered with @gmail.com

i've got an old account @morkitu.org, but cannot access it, the pw reset emails never reach my inbox. (and yes, I've checked the spam folders and the server logs, no trace of them).
No, I haven't lost my mind...
I must have a backup, on a disk, somewhere...

I got registered yesterday using gmail.  I was not getting the activation sent to my email I use to play on.  I checked both my email client and the web page email for spam too. Anyway, I made my first post yesterday and today I noticed my email is on the post.  I'm not sure how, I'm guessing the activation reply, but my main email is on the post with my name.  This is not the email shown in my profile, nor is it the one I use to play my character.  I checked the box to not show email in my post now, but would like the one on the original post be be changed or removed please.

:D Ok my bad.  I saw the sender at the top.

I guess you got the problem fixed?  I registered, downloaded, and started playing today.

The confirmation email came immediately.

Hi,
I was trying to get an account with 2 different domains, without success, no registration email arrived. Then I've tried with a gmail account. It worked.
If you please can delete the accounts for Boeven and BoevenFacco I'll try to registering again.

my situation:

gmail.com   >  OK
libero.it   >   no email registration, nothing in spam folder
freepass.it   >   no email registration, nothing in spam

Thanks!

It seems my posting of forum registration problems was posted in the wrong area. My apologies.
