It was actually turned off by default, I turned it on to see how it works. 2.5 seconds later I got my first -1 !!

I will see if there is a way to disable the negatives. I think it's much better to have just the appreciation part, if you dislike should be like no vote.

Someone asks what is the lowest? At this point I think can be any value.. like -999999.

The delay can be configured, was 1 hour before, I raised it to 24 hours. Open to discussions.

Ah, found. Now you can only applaud (+1) or not.

* Aiwendil  gives everyone in the forum a cold glare for sabotaging his goals

Yeah...noticed that when I tried to applaud you two times.

Edit: Awww....no...keep it. Getting to -99999 sound like something that could keep me busy for some time.

I didn't really mind the smiting either, some posts just cry out for it. I just kind of found it odd that someone had debased me on the basis of a well-meant constructive post regarding the display on the forum. Still I have been around long enough to have gained my share of detractors as I am not always politic in my comments.

Perhaps before anything is set in stone you could test the poll functionality by putting the question to the membership. I doubt that that functionality has changed significantly but bugs are always creeping in where they are least expected.

I dont believe in karma anyway, a lot of really good people go completely unrewarded..
But mabey their reward for being a good person, is not having bad things happen :P
Sounds like a lose, Meh, situation..

The horror! Is this a popularity contest?

Life is a popularity contest, sadly. Well, sadly for the unpopular ones.

If only that were true. I'm not on Face Book, but I've heard stories from colleagues that sound just like freshman high school.

Then again, I've been among geriatrics and felt like I was back in elementary school.
