Another day, another login

Since the forum moved, it seems to be not possible anymore to stay logged in for a very long time. Each day I have to log in again, despite checking the box on the forum login page to stay infinitely (or at least much longer than the default 60 minutes). Increasing the number in this form did not help either. Is it possible that the cookie still has a reference to an outdated URL, therefore isn't persistent?

Try putting in the wrong password and getting another page- I put in the wrong one first and checked "stay logged in" and I have been since the change.

I don't allow cookies, so I can't really try this myself ( er eh... don't feel like it ) ... but if I remember correctly, I think you can do so by executing a Javascript command in the url bar. Something like:

javascript:document.cookie="name=value"

Perhaps it might be possible to correct it like this?

I'm not experiencing this issue. It lets me stay logged on. Not sure if that's  helpful or not.

I cleaned some old cookies, but it stays the same: When I quit my browser, start it again, and load the forum, I have to log in again. Just as if the SMFCookie### is not read.

May the reason be that my browser restricts cookies to the same domain, or are there other possible restrictions which may lead to a loss?

LigH, for years I had the problem that you are having now, I couldn't remained logged in. Now I am finally able to stay logged in. Figure that one out.

Seems I was having this issue, but am no longer. I suspect the process that worked for me was to load the forum... sign in... and then leave the page up without doing anything until the log-in times out,

Then when prompted to log back in I ticked the stay logged box or whatever it is... and all has been well since.

Am using Chrome atm... will assess with Firefox once I get home.
