Poems
« on: March 12, 2003, 10:08:34 pm »
I figured I\'d compile together as many poems as I could find, so people can get them all in one place. If you have new poems, you can put them here.
You are here,
You will always be here,
You will never be there.
Although you may strive to get there,
upon reaching there you will realize you are really here.
And there is everywhere else.

Rogue\'s Hymn

Lonely are the Roguish tale
Our tears unseen through onyx veil.
Lonely are the Roguish trial
Our mood askance with wistful style.
Lonely are the Roguish tune
Our solitude lit by azure moon.

Silent is the Roguish theme
One\'s dagger-kiss with supple gleam.
Silent is the Roguish trance
One\'s cloaked self in macabre stance.
Silent is the Roguish tact
One\'s nimble hands trained to be exact.

Ruthless can be the Roguish trust
Yet we attain friendship near robust.
Ruthless is the Roguish tone
Yet we suppress a strangled moan.
Ruthless is the Roguish test
Yet only one shall become the best.

Neverlong-

Never will I see your face,
Never again will I see this place,
Too long had this been delayed,
Too long has this upon me weighed.
Last night I began to pray,
To not allow my soul to stray,
But it was too late,
For I had already approached the gate,
I stood within the judgement hall,
Might I stand or would I fall,
Tears of blood stained my face,
As I fled from that place,
Into the depths I fall,
Forever within to dwell.

City of Azure

Sleepy City of the Azure Sun
Daily toil has just begun;
Nestled between Stone Labyrinth\'s keep
And lucid Nolthrir waters deep.

Sweet City of the Azure Sun
Your beauty shone enough to stun;
Surrounded by cool streams and ethereal skies
What true darkness donned such guise?

Strained City of the Azure Light
Tensions flowed by ancient plight;
Against glacial Laanx and ardent Talad
Can relations turn from those deemed pallid?

Stoic City of the Azure Light
Let those quarrel not over ancestral site;
Be it Xacha, Diaboli, Lemur or Kran
Across aeons your people must span.

Sole City of the Azure Dawn
Be watchful toward malevolent brawn;
Dire abominations wished an overtake
Life herself perpetually at stake.

Serene City of the Azure Dawn
Never will hope become withdrawn;
Untrammeled spirits of Hereos will soar
Your children forever ablaze in lore.

Silent Warriors

Silent warriors
Wandering aimlessly through the night.
Seeking love but finding naught
So forever they torment those
Who have what they cannot.
At long last eternal peace they shall recieve.
And yet, tis but a deception
Because of their deeds.
For only now, they must wander
The forsaken halls and
Drift through the river Styx.
You are here,
You will always be here,
You will never be there.
Although you may strive to get there,
upon reaching there you will realize you are really here.
And there is everywhere else.

Oh hey, just thought I\'d send out an FYI before you post those on a webpage somewhere (if you decide to later on):

My new character name is:

Kahlisidryn \"Kahlisi\" Seirpo, not Kahlisi Tarmyn (you caught me before I could edit the posts, heehee).  Use this, instead, please:

- Kahlisi Seirpo
Ylian Rogue and Bard

Thank you for your appreciation of my poetry!  :))

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

I imagine that was written knowing his father was lying in his deathbed.  What inspires your poetry?  From what diluted well springs your pathos?  Know your spirit before you let it speak.  Otherwise, who will listen but yourself?

You are here,
You will always be here,
You will never be there.
Although you may strive to get there,
upon reaching there you will realize you are really here.
And there is everywhere else.

Silence,
Resolute and foreboding,
Splinters and carries
My heart across waves to
Open sea.

What have I done to deserve this?
Nothing more than the meekest of confessions.

Acquiescence,
Tyrannical and unmoving,
Forces and restrains
New-found fondness
By forming.

Solitude,
Heavy and hushing,
Meets and sustains
A righteous spirit
From storming.

What did I crave to understand this?
Only the smallest wish to hear mirrored affections.

Delusion,
Harsh and self-imposing,
Breaks and scatters
To reveal a possible reality
Without you.

Dejection,
Thick and unending,
Mazes and traps
A soul by revealing what
Is true.

What can I do to remedy this?
Merely wait for impossible circumstances.

Hidden,
Upon that beach
My heart lies buried
Beneath few precious grains
Of sand...

Bring me through mists
(Keep me)
And flights of fancy.

Just let me.

Flight of Dragon - by Ravenmaster
« Reply #11 on: March 13, 2003, 01:21:56 pm »
I wrote this when I was 12. I just found it in my writing folder...

Flight of Dragon

With a fiery wave
She flies toward her cave
With no heed for the men,
For their house or their hen.
Sweep past lumber mills,
And over rolling hills.

Now food is in sight,
To be devoured in one bite,
She swoops low for the steal
Of a squirmish meal.
Then on home she flies,
through deep, blue skies.

And I stare in awe
At the monstrous paw,
And her head and her wings,
And all other wondrous things,
All the great features,
Of the Queen of the creatures.

All men stare,
And at once I?m aware,
Of the beauty of she,
Over land, over sea.

Then an arrow is shot,
and it?s victim is sought.
What a fool he must be,
to quarrel with she.

But a fiery blast
Will soon be his last,
And the Dragon will continue her flight.

A Modest Tavern, Indeed - by Kahlisi

Kahlisidryn sat alone, recessed in the shadows, and gulped down some potato soup.  Laughter and dancing reached not the young Bard for she was far off, possessed by the Spark of Creation.  Most of The BBB\'s clients understood they were not to disturb Kahli in her moods.  Fingers drummed atop a wooden slab while she sipped wine.  Her brown eyes peered down at her lap; more importantly toward the blank parchment.

What of Kada\'s Tavern, eh? Kahlisi mused.  The Spark ignited to life and spread with coy smile.

She snatched her quill and inkwell - the process had begun.  Long moments passed while Kahlisidryn Seirpo continued to scribe.  With a nod of accomplishment, the Bard rolled up her paper and stood.  She sauntered over to the bar then handed it to Kada-El.  Kahli flashed her trademark grin and wink.

\"The night calls me - it is still young.\"  A quick reach and shrug draped her black cloak around the slender form.  Kahlisi slipped out the front door, her Roguish aspects unable to be contained.

A Modest Tavern, Indeed

Come, sing a tune,
Dearest friends,
Around stone fireplace.
Fill oneself with hearty
Stew or ale,
Satisfaction the grace.

Patrons in crushed velvet,
Coin ready,
Sweet wines at request.
Travelers in sturdy cloth,
Boast and brag,
Await another harsh test.

Bed sheets of silk,
Woolen comforters,
And mattresses of down.
Only finest furnishings make
Kada-El\'s Tavern,
In Hydlaa, most renown.

Come, sing a tune,
Dearest friends,
Around stone fireplace.
Let soft flutes or lyres
Lull a person
To Sleep\'s deep embrace.
