I didn't do any shading and I don't plan on doing any. It probably looks a bit like I did since I left all the light strokes I did first on the paper and added the strong strokes later.

I guess that hits the nail on the head (if this saying exists in english), Dannae. I usually put the focus on the character, trying to show how I see that char, with alignment and everything else. If I draw surroundings, it is usually used to emphasize some parts of that. I guess I looked at the picture that way as well.

Well, the proportions are always a little off. I used a photo as a reference. Can't seem to get the same proportions as in the photo. There are tricks to copy the propotions, but I like doing it just by eye. It's more fun and somehow the picture seems more alive this way. More emotion in it. Dunno if it makes sense

I know the problem at not finding anyone to RP with.... my usual problem :-(

theeccentric: try asking in gossip in game if anyone wants to RP with you. Sometimes it is possible to find someone to RP with that way. At least it's worth a try

And don't worry too much about not having a fully developed char (character/past wise). At least for me a lot of stuff was easier to figure out after I played my char a little. And no one is going to kill you just because you didn't finish to develop your char yet ;-)

Hmm in that case, what does one say when they need to pause from the computer for a moment or something along those lines so as not to break said experience?

Just say that you have to be afk. Don't forget to put OOC (out of character) stuff between brackets. People tend to get really annoyed if OOC stuff is not put between brackets.

Hmm... not sure if it helps. But I try to imagine the subject I want to shade in my mind 3 dimensional and then think where the light comes from and where the shadow should be. I am probably not completely right this way, but it works pretty well. And for drawing I pretty often examine things very closely  like where is the shadow, the proportions, the texture, the tucking? of clothes, the hair, etc.  It can creep out people if you aren't careful 

I want to thank for all the help I've gotten for Ierefal. Thanks to them it was possible to run the event, and hopefully enjoyable for everyone attending. At least it was enjoyable for me.

Thanks for all the merchants who showed up. That many weren't expected, so we were actually a little short on stalls for everyone. I am not even sure if there were more merchants than customers
