Title: The Tailor
Post by: Mariana Xiechai on December 06, 2014, 10:20:55 pm
(My last thread got deleted by the forum glitch, perfect time to start fresh!)

On the billboards of Hydlaa and Gugrontid are some new advertisements:

Selicree will be available soon at markets, et cetera, but depending on player demand I might set her up permanently somewhere, maybe at a stall, if it's available.

When you order something from Selicree, you will get a book describing the clothing, but you will also get a "fashion sketch" of sorts, which I will post to this thread underneath whoever commissioned it and whoever its intended wearer is.

Selicree will expect money depending on the quality of materials specified, and whatnot.

She CANNOT make armor. She's not an armorsmith. Only a tailor. Don't worry, Way of the Hammer, she's got no competition for you.  ;D

Outfit commissioned by: Illysia
Intended wearer: Roled

Outfit description: This was clearly made for special events, or for someone who wants to look good during everyday outings. The primary theme is a glinting gold color, which permeates both tunic and trousers, with the trousers being a darker variation. Designs blaze across the ends of the trousers and the hem of the shirt. It's high-collared, and the brass buttons that travel down its length have been carefully molded and styled. A half-cape completes the outfit, a deep green that compliments the golden theme.

Outfit commissioned by: Melada
Intended wearer: Melada

Outfit description: This piece was clearly made to value form over function. Its primary coloring is a series of rich, dark blues, offset by a tinted grey-gold. The corset is stitched with it, as is the hood and cloak, the boots, and the long gloves. The embroidery on the cuffs of the gloves is slightly raised, made in a jagged geometrical shape, and in the left glove there is a slit where a small dagger might be artfully concealed. The half-mask, which is meant to cover the nose while leaving the mouth free, is a coordinated golden color, etched with a series of appealing curves. At the apex of the mask, to tie the outfit together, is a sapphire gemstone.

The corset lays over a mini dress that falls just at the ends of the intended wearer's thighs. It's pleated, so that it shifts around the wearer's legs when they walk.

Customer specifications: A mask to hide identity, leave some leg showing.

Outfit commissioned by: Oele (grudingly)
Intended wearer: Oele

Outfit description: More than anything, this ensemble seems to have been made with sturdy functionality in mind. There's a sweater knitted of what looks like woven ulbernaut fur, plush and warm, and dyed a burnt orange. A leather vest comes with it, presumably intended to hang over the sweater to lend a stylish flare. The pants match the vest, also leather, although of a more supple and flexible sort, lined on the inside with fabric for the purposes of warmth. All of the pieces of the outfit look like they've been made to fit comfortably, yet leave room for an adolescent girl to grow.

Outfit commissioned by: Anysu
Intended wearer: Anysu

Outfit description: This is the sort of evening gown one might expect to see on a Lady. It's made of satin, and looks almost watery in quality because of all of the blues arrayed. The designs in the torso and around the boat-neck collar go with the ones stitched into the bottom. It's floor-length, and the sleeves are cut off at the elbows, with an excess of fabric left there to keep the flowing appeal.

Customer specifications: "I like blue."

Outfit commissioned by: Sacho
Intended wearer: Sacho

Outfit description: The overcoat and pants of this suit is made of tanned velnishi hide. The insides of each are lined with black satin, to make it more comfortable. A mantle of ulbernaut fur hangs across the overcoat's shoulders, for the purposes of warmth. There is an undershirt of delicately polished and washed riverling hide, which is likewise lined in satin, but blue rather than black. To further tie the trousers to the rest of the ensemble, the belt is also riverling hide, and more hide has been laid across the trouser's ends. The stylistic choices on this piece reflect crystal way: A light glyph has been embroidered on either side of the overcoat, and the belt buckle is clearly meant to be a crystal glyph. The outfit is not meant to be sturdy and clearly is intended for special occasions.

Customer specifications: "Make something you think would suit me."

Outfit commissioned by: Prreta
Intended wearer: Prreta

Outfit description: There is an elegant simplicity about this piece. The neckline hangs just off the shoulders, leaving them bare. Along the neckline are a series of carefully threaded pearls, that are adhered to the dress's light black silk. There's another, matching layer of them just above the waist, and a small pattern, done in silvery weave to tie the pearls together, is embroidered between the two lines. The skirt of the dress is longer on one side than the other, exposing some of the left leg more than the right, but not enough to detract from a sense of class.

Customer specifications: "Let's see what you can do with black silk and black pearls!"

Outfit description: The most decorated, and perhaps the centerpiece of this outfit is the green-dyed leather vest. It has a vine, leafing pattern on the right and left side, respectively, and is held closed with a series of polished golden buttons. There's a deep red, silk undershirt to go, as well as black silk pants. To go with the ensemble, a small cloak of treated ulbernaut hide is tied about the shoulders, and clasped with a golden leaf, likely to tie in with the theme of the vest.

Intended wearer: anonymous

Outfit description: It was clearly made with the intent to intimidate people. The exterior is entirely velnishi scales, carefully cut individually and then pasted over a length of sturdy rivnak hide. They've been colored a dull, muted grey. The outfit opens up in the back with a series of clasps that are artfully concealed in the scaling. The mask-piece looks to have a permanent scowl, with black fabric over the eyes that appears opaque to onlookers but which can be viewed through by the wearer. The mouth is open a snarl, juts slightly from the face, and is reinforced by plaster. The teeth inside of it are also velnishi, as are the claws at the ends of the hands and feet. There is enough cushioning built in to hide gender and the general build of the wearer, but it's also somewhat cumbersome and would likely restrict rapid pivoting of the torso. Held within the cushioning is a single pocket, a slit, hollow space also hidden by the scaling, in which something might be concealed.

Character specifications: "I want to be Yliakum's Godzilla." "I'm starring in the new Jurassic Park."

"Make me a lizard suit that hides my race and gender."

Outfit description: This is a particularly well made "daily wear" sort of ensemble. The shirt is sturdy silk, and the pants are lined with silk as well, though the exterior is supple leather. The overcoat, or rather a low-hanging duster, is also leather, but lined on the inside with ulbernaut fur for the purposes of warmth. All but the shirt are earthy tones, though the duster is lined with silver buttons. The shirt is a deep, bluish purple color.

Character specifications: "I need a new everyday ensemble. I like silk."

Outfit commissioned by: Demagul
Intended wearer: Demagul

Outfit description: This outfit was obviously made for a practitioner of crystal way. A vivid blue color makes up the tunic, and serves as the backdrop to a sort of artistry: the embroidery is extensive. A sight glyph is at the end of each sleeve, front and back. An energy glyph rests at the top of each sleeve. Stitched painstakingly into the torso are two opposing arrow glyphs, and at the tips of those still are light glyphs. They're all done in varying shades of off-white, so they gleam when the wearer moves.

The trousers are a silvery color, almost liquid-like. The color is transferred to the ends of the tunic's hem and sleeves. To complete the ensemble, there is a long cloak, cut just to hover above the ground comfortably. It drapes over both shoulders, the exterior a pale blue, the interior a dark azure. The clasp of the cloak is made of pure silver itself, and is carved in the likeness of a life glyph. The only addition to this outfit is a sash that can be tied about the waste, made of the same silky material as the pants.

Customer specifications: "I am a crystal way healer, and would like something professional looking for my status in the Knowledge Seeker's guild."

Outfit description: This mask is made of durable fabric, treated to be stiff so it will mold easily to the face of a fenki. It leaves the nose free, but hides the structure of the rest of the face. Dyed in pinks and golds, it's very feminine, and the embroidery is an array of enkien-like detailing.

Outfit description: This outfit is two pieces. The top is a long tunic with sleeves that bell out at the ends. It's a light, pinkish color. There is a bodice built into the center with sturdy fabrics and lined with cloth-of-gold accents. These accents carry into the ends of the sleeves and the collar and hem of the tunic, spattered with geometrical patterns. The second part of the skirt, colored a slightly deeper, rosy shade, stretches to hover just above the wearer's feet. It's conservative but flashy, as the hem of the skirt boasts the same cloth-of-gold and geometrical pattern.

Outfit commissioned by: Siteya
Intended wearer(s): Priestesses of the Daughters of Xiosia

Outfit description: No expenses were spared in the making of this outfit. It's a merging of coat and dress, made entirely of thick, yet soft warm fur that has been dyed entirely white. The skirt of the outfit is cut in layer upon layer of "petals" to resemble a snowbud. The "petals" start right beneath the breasts, designed to look like they flow out of the outfit's second piece: a metallic blue bodice. The bodice is embroidered with silver thread, and has another petal-like piece made of silver at its apex. It serves the purpose to increase the femininity of the outfit while still keeping it warm.

The sleeves are form fitted to the arms, and then have expansive trails of fabric at the ends. The ends of the sleeves, as well as the hood and neckline, are lined with fur that has been dyed a silvery color.

Intended wearer: Evirea

Outfit description: The exterior is made entirely of a clean, supple leather, the tunic being lighter than the trousers. The entire outfit is clearly made to fit closely and comfortably. The inside of the leather is lined in a thin layer of fur to make its seasonality flexible. The tunic itself is a sort of coat, the clasps in the front holding it closed, the collar slit slightly and then allowing the slit to carry around the back to allow for the wings of  a klyros. Silver stitching on the tunic, while not excessive, is curved in the shape of a klyran wing-tine, and the buckle on the thick leather belt is molded into klyran letters that spell the word "healer." The belt also comes with four sturdy, decently sized pouches, two in front and two in back.

All in all, it seems like a functional outfit made to cater to someone's profession.

Intended wearer: Lumi

Outfit description: There are two layers to this outfit. The first layer is a slightly lighter blue than the rest, consisting of a pair of pants that bell in the middle, and a long, trailing sleeved tunic. The sleeves of the tunic are embroidered with small, dark blue Dome glyphs.

The second layer of this tunic needs to be stepped into and clasped. The torso piece is short sleeved and opens completely to show the tunic underneath. A clasp at the wearer's waist is molded to look like a Bond glyph. The bond glyph motif carries on at the joining seam of the second layer, flowing out to the skirt piece, which boasts a stylized Wind glyph. The skirt has to be stepped into and the second layered shirt pulled up over the shoulders. Included in the second layer, which is really a sort of faux robe, is a hood. The apex of the hood is dotted with another silvery glyph, Sound.

All in all this is clearly another practitioner's outfit.

Outfit description: Only someone very wealthy could have purchased this outfit, and only someone with a lot of time (or fast hands) could have made it. There is a simple green tunic made of silk beneath a white leather vest whose buttons are molded to look like silvery maple leaves, with thorny vines embroidered beneath them. The golden leather pants are made as tight as possible. So tight that it might be considered by some to be a little indecent. In the same off-white color of the vest, there are fingerless gloves and suede boots, both of which have the silver-maple-leaf embroidery.

The outfit also includes a large, warm cotton greatcoat. It's darker green at the bottom but as it travels up it turns to a bright golden color. The collar looks again like a leaf, and fading slightly into the hood. All along the coat is very extensive embroidery in the shape of a creeping vine, ending in what looks like a yarrow epaulette at the shoulders. This is done in golden thread.

The last piece of the outfit is a sort of tiara, rendered in pure gold, and set with three emeralds.

Outfit description: A red blouse is set against a pair of black pants. The sleeves of the blouse balloon slightly from the shoulders on down to the wrists, where they taper off to hug close and not restrict the hands. It has a boat neck line, and as it is low-hanging there is sheer fabric to make it appealing without being immodest. The pants are made of leather, the blouse of silk.

Included in the outfit, made of the same leather as the pants, is a small corset. It has some geometrical embroidering and is the same blackish color. There is also embroidery on the silken blouse to cleverly make it look like the corset fades into the shirt.

In addition, the outfit includes a leather belt, dyed a golden color. It has many hooks in it for the hanging of pouches. A small bag with a chain that can easily be attached to the hooks is included and it, too, is gold-dyed leather. The bag has small etches on it that resemble trees.

Outfit description: The theme of this ensemble clear rests in nature and green, growing things. The tunic is long and has a small half-train in the back that ends at the knees, permitting fashion without limiting motion. The hood of the tunic is made to hook to the elaborately carved mask, which is made of sturdy layers of leather woven again and again together and dyed an array of green colors. The leather trousers, beaten to a supple state, are also a deep, almost blackish green.

The sleeves bell outwards but end at the elbows. To compensate, light green gloves are included, a color that matches the boots, so that no inch of skin is exposed. Within the bell of the sleeves are small loops in which a stiletto dagger might be artfully concealed for a time, or perhaps a vial. Unlike the mask and leggings, the tunic is made of sturdy cotton, and embroidered in a way that abstractly denotes foliage.

Outfit description:

This dress is made to cut off on one side at the knee, the other asymmetrically around mid-thigh, with a shredded, tattered theme along the bottom. Matching the theme, the neckline bares one shoulder and covers the other. It's primarily a rich, royal purple color. It's also cut to be rather revealing, with golden chords barely seeing to hold this cut in place. The golden theme continues along the waist, where a simple yet elegant design has been embroidered. The dress is short-sleeved.

Outfit commissioned by: Reiharra
Intended Wearer: Reiharra

Outfit Description:

This evening gown is classy enough to make no remark upon the wearer, but cut in a way to exaggerate their femininity all the same. It bares the shoulders and the collarbones, coming up to soft points at the ends, and has a slit in the back that narrows down at the waist in behind to a point. There are three layers that bleed into one another: light blue, light green, and then a pearly off-white. Indeed, pearls have been strung across the waist and around the shoulders, attached the the fabric so they gleam when it moves. All of it is made of soft, silky satin, though the waist and beneath the chest have been fortified by sturdier material as a pseudo-built in bust. Green embroidery draws attention to the area while drawing it away from the presence of the bust.

The shoes that go with the ensemble were obviously made for it, having the same color coordination as the dress. They, too, have pearls embroidered upon them, and are high-heeled to give the wearer more by way of height.

Outfit commissioned by: Sulaika
Intended wearer: Sulaika

Outfit description:
Without a shred of doubt, the first thing one will notice about this piece is the downright scandalous neckline. It plunges down to nearly the belly button, leaving little to no room for imagination in that general vicinity. There is sheer black fabric draped over the bodice-piece, painstakingly connected bit by bit so that it leaves very short sleeves behind. It's almost completely transparent. There are black pearls lining the plunging neckline to further draw the eye, as well as dark black embroidery around the waist and at the tips of the bust, which is dark purple. The skirt, too, is dyed a deep, deep violet, further darkened again by the same transparent black material. The material becomes opaque at the ends, at the bottom of the skirt, into points.

The boots and gloves included in the ensemble are a perfect match. They are both shades of dark purple and draped strategically with black pearls. The heels of the shoes are stiletto, and dyed a shimmering, fetching black.

Outfit commissioned by: Fenoren
Intended wearer: Fenoren

Outfit description: This is a three-piece suit, the shirt made of smooth red silk, the overcoat made of denser, bold grey cotton. The pants are a slightly darker grey, almost black and made of the same material as the overcoat. The insides of both are also lined in black silk, for comfort. The cuff-links are silver, in a sort of figure-eight. The buttons are also silver, to give the outfit a little flare, and there are clasps on the collar of the overcoat and the silken undershirt, also silver, in case the wearer would want to button them up below his neck.

Altogether, it's not overly flashy, and likely meant to be distinguishing.

Outfit description: This suit has been made with a dark blue jacket made of treated velnishi hide, a lighter blue silken undershirt, and black trousers also made from the hide of a velnishi. It's clearly formal wear, and boasts wave-like embroidery on the hem and the edges of the sleeves of the jacket. There are also golden accents woven into the silk of the undershirt. Outfit description: A simple yet embellished three-piece ensemble. It has a leather jerkin, the clasp that holds it closed a fanciful silver thing, which has faint dark etchings on it that are vaguely floral. The pants are a dark, deep green cotton, and there is a silken undershirt of creamy off-white. Altogether, the outfit seems to be able to suit as either everyday wear, or for more formal business interactions.

Outfit description: This is a stunning red-and-black themed robe. It doesn't seem to bear any affiliation with a particular way, yet still managed to be apparently made for a mage. It has belling sleeves that have alternating black patterns against the deep red, and the black is also apparent up the middle of the outfit and around the neckline, as well as down to the hem of the robe's end. The tie at the waist, too, is black, and can be fastened to bring the outfit closer about the waist.

Outfit description: A suit of formalwear that has been made with durability in mind, likely so that it can also be worn day to day. The coat is dyed dark blue and made of tefusang hide. The pants are an even darker blue, so dark as to be nearly black, and made of the same sort of hide. The undershirt contrasts the two pieces by being a far paler blue-grey, with darker lines running down its length. It's high-collared, and also concludes a blue cravat that matches the color of the coat.

There are few embellishments, save from some gray lining on the coat's middle, hem and sleeves, and round, silver buttons.

Outfit description: This is a two-piece outfit. The main piece is of course the beautiful green evening gown. It's dyed in different shades of green, from spring-time leafy to darkest jade. It has belling sleeves and skirt, with green edging on the ends of both, as well as around the slightly flared collar. The dress opens up in the skirt to reveal pleating in the middle that ripples with movement.

There is also a bodice that comes with the attire, which ties off tightly down the center. It's a pale, pale green to contrast, yet flow with the dress. Made of leather, it's also the only thing that breaks the green theme: dyed into the etching there is a vine-like pattern, and golden-rod can be seen there.

Outfit description: This ensemble is a feast to the eye in its richness of color. The blouse is cut asymmetrically at the hem, and hangs fetchingly off the shoulders. It's deep red in color. The pants are also richly hued, mauve, and bell around the shins the way the blouse bells around the forearms. The sleeves also go from red to light-blue midway down, with golden geometric accents embroidered there. These accents match the blue bodice-piece that goes with the ensemble, boasting the same rich-gold accents.

The final embellishment are the bright gold tassels along the neckline and the hemline of the blouse.

Altogether, the outfit is reminiscent of the colorful styles found in Ojavedan culture.

Outfit description: A fine silken tunic of black and blue. Black is the predominant color, but it ends at around the elbow to give way to blue, and the embroidery along the hem of the tunic looks like waves crashing into one another down the middle. Outfit Description: This is an elegant gown made for special occasions. Its primary color is a deep, deep emerald green, though it bleaches out at the hem of the skirt and at the edges of the expansively belling sleeves. The neckline bears the shoulders and just some of the wearer's chest. From the bottoms of the breasts down it is pleated widely, making the dress swirl about the wearer's legs. There is also silken silver embroidery on the hem, the ends of the sleeves, and around the neckline. A silver chord strung through the waist allows the wearer to tighten it around their middle if so desired.

Outfit Description: This is an elegant golden dress. It comes with a bust that ties in the back, leather that has been dyed red and etched extensively in gold to match the dress beneath. The red is further complimented in the hemline as well as the neckline to draw the bust in. The skirt is low in the back, hanging to the ankles, but higher in the front, though still at a modest cut just below the knees. The sleeves, incredibly long, are nevertheless cut open right at the shoulders to allow for full movement. They are a sheer material, showing the skin beneath and billowing at the slightest provocation of wind.

Outfit Description: This gown is part dress and part optical illusion. The base color has been made to match the color of the wearer's skin, as closely as possible. While the cut of the gown is relatively modest with a pleated skirt that forms a small train on the floor and a sweetheart neckline, at a glance, due to the color it looks like the wearer is in nothing but the intricate blue embroidery laid over top. The embroidery stretches from the neckline and descends far past the waist, leaving only the pleating on the lower half of the skirt bare. It is sleeveless.

Outfit Description: An outfit fit for a female Dakkruist. Primarily dark purple, it's made of satin and stretches to the ground with a pleated skirt. There is a belt around it - outlined in black and filled in with a lighter purple - that cinches up the waist. At its center is a stylized eye - the eye that watches those who leave the Death Realm. The shimmering amethyst that makes its cornea glint and appear to make it move to watch anyone observing the dress.

The neckline is a sweetheart, and emboldened in black. There are smaller amethysts around the neckline. Sprouting to cover the shoulders and flowing out as sleeves is black lace, curling like the thorns of a dead rose. It bears the skin beneath in the spaces, in this case, the green skin of the nolthrir wearer.

Outfit Description: There are dresses that leave little to the imagination, and then there are those that believe people have literally no imagination at all and seek to cater to this depressing handicap. This outfit is of the latter category. With a red, leather ensemble that covers the naughty bits well enough, it's built to leave the rest more or less exposed. An almost entirely transparent orange material slopes to form 3/4 sleeves and a loin-cloth like skirt that exposes the legs on downwards right where the wearer's thighs start. It is detailed with silver chains that dangle with rubies. These are attached to the shoulders, between the leather cups for the breasts, on the hips, and right between the legs.

Outfit description: Formalwear that is made to be clean and comfortable but not overly flashy. It boasts a long vest that stretches nearly to the wearer's knees, black but for a thick band of cloth-of-gold up the middle seams. The jacket cannot be tied shut; instead it's meant to hang open over an equally long tunic underneath of a pleasant blue color. The tunic is long sleeved and again banded with cloth-of-gold around the neck and waist. The ends of the tunic's sleeves have a dark blue-and-gold triangular geometric pattern.

The outfit comes with a pair of comparatively simple brown pants, made of heavily treated leather so as to be supple and to give it shine.

Outfit Description: A lovely dress made of a light, airy sort of material. Around the waist it has been meticulously cut away, keeping the wearer from being indecent but exposing bits of skin beneath an intricate, vine-like pattern that extends into the skirt. The skirt itself is cut in layers, falling in a style that resembles leaves and flowing into an increasingly darker blue. Though it is sleeveless, there have been tiny hard to notice crystals lodged into the fabric on the shoulders, which, when worn, use the slightest azure way enchantment to make it seem like the wearer is sporting transparent, delicate wings.
