lol, I agree. either the texture or the model is making that charachter look horid
I think it's because the model on the face is of a fat, lumpy guy, but the texture is of a good looking man. the eyes are too small to fit where they would look best, but if you made them bigger, it would be unrealistic

The mouth area:  real facial hair follows the contours of the edge of the lips, including the indent under the nose

The Hair:  the texture of the hair is that of parted hair, with the ends coming down to the side, but the model is that of combed back hair or a mullet
this gives the appearance that he is wearing a hair net with a very tight mesh
or, because of the fin-like point at the top of the hair,  the hair model could also accomidate the texture of a fohawk-mullet, (lol... fohawllet?)
and then there are the little pookies on the sides, which kinda make it look like a hat, or a miniature afro.. kindof a.. fohawk-mullet-afro I guess, lol (foahawletfro?) which is the other reason it looks like he's wearing a hair net.

and this is my theory on why it looks so bad

hi, uh, I wasn't sure what part of the forum to post this in, but this seemed like the one most likely to be correct

how exactly does one open a dds file for editing?

ohh, ok, so do I extract it to just the raw, PlaneShift, Christal blue, wahtever, directory? or in folders within that directory?

grr!

every time I run the updater, it comes up with a message saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close

can someone help me please? is there some new updater I haveto install or something?

hello. I'm a 2D Prospect
my task has been in the "Complete" bin for about two weeks now but its status is still  "Waiting review from PS devs"
I sent an email about this aswell, (as suggested on the "What's New?" page) but I thought it would be a good idea to post it here aswell

erm, well, as far as I can tell, that's not adult  content, that's just a horny little kid, I don't really think there's much that can be done about it tho,
whatever you do, don't add a chat filter, those always mess up and make everything unrealistic
you could always just have a reporting system (you probably do already)  you know, just send a screen shot in and then someone will deal with it as they see fit

and deffinitly, do NOT have an 18+ area, I assure you, the game will go in a very bad direction, and probably even make the non 18+ area have an air of perversion

very cool :)
altho I think it might be a bit too scifi/Myst-esque for PlaneShift
but I think that might just be due to the textures and the shiney surfaces,  try making them more detailed and less clean cut, maybe some rust on the metal parts around the docks

(we should leave the Myst emulation games to "The Adventure Comapny")

omg... scratch that,
look for my post about "Adventure Aspects"



umm, I'd also like to point out that the ship and the ship's sails and the ship,s cabin, and the walk way to above the cabin are incredibly disproportionatly small in comparison to everything else in the environment (just thought I should point that out)
