Books are now pretty much unusable... why?!?!
« on: May 08, 2009, 09:53:06 am »
I hadn't played for a while but you used to be able to save books in a .txt file and search through them. Looks like that feature is gone now. To me that means that the books are unusable. I don't know if other people will do it, but I'm not scrolling through thousands lines of text to find the one I'm looking for. My suggestion is to either introduce a search feature in the books in game or go back to being able to save books in .txt files.

Thanks

I think Vorodot meant setting books. For a short time you culd save those as well in a text file.

yup, I mean like the Book of Blades, for example. You used to be able to save that in .txt file and search through it. Now my book of blades has so many lines that scrolling through it is kinda pointless. It would take forever to find a single entry.

The change was made because settings books were becoming easy to copy, meaning the proprietary content of the game could be reproduced. I don't think anyone liked the change (feature-wise), but it was necessary nonetheless.
