Registration / password reset emails
« on: April 16, 2012, 05:20:04 pm »
Hi,
today we got a number of notifications about people not receiving activation or password reset emails. We have changed the mail server configuration few hours ago and now seems to work better. We verified it with some players who were unable to get emails before. It seems there are still some problems and a server reboot will probably be required. In any case I suggest to try again now, and in case it fails you can send me a personal message with your email address.

Thanks, Talad.  As someone who was running into this issue I can confirm that it is now working again.

Dear Talad,

I have a slight problem in getting a new password since my E-Mail address does not exist for the past 3 years anymore.
Any suggestions how we can solve this problem? Since my character is almost an antiquity I would not like her to see vanish.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you, Weltall! I tried that and it did not work. I have upgraded the 0.5.8.1 Version to 0.5.9 by repair function since I was not able to get PS running with normal install.  This means I cannot retry.
Strangely, I tried to log in with my Windows laptop but it shows the server as offline.

it's there still a way to get the old Mac version downloaded somewhere?

Certainly. The german community will make it available on their download servers. We'll have to keep the White Lady with us. Join #psde on FreeNode IRC for details.

You can PM me your old and new email address, and I can check if the two IP corresponds, that will prove the old account is yours, and I can do the change.

I don't know if that's a common problem, but I'm not receiving any e-mail notifications (on new PMs / subscribed topic replies) from the forums. At first I got them, then I didn't, then again I did, and now again I don't. Would that be fixed now, too?

(Or it might just be a problem on my part, so if you have no idea what could be causing it, don't stress yourselves.)

I don't receive topic reply / PM notifications either. And I have a smaller, independent webspace / mail hoster.

Dear Talad, I send you a PM, hoping that you received it.

Also, thank you LigH for your help too and I will gladly see if I can log into the german community asap! Then I could try what was suggested, if my credentials cannot be changed otherwise due to some or other reasons.

I do look forward getting into Yliakum soon again!

Until then!   :flowers:
