Maximum Settings Question

I have seen several gorgeous screenshots and well-rendered objects throughout the years that I've played this game, but never gotten to that point myself. Now, I believe I would like to. I'm going to pick up a new laptop within the next few days/weeks, what type of stand-alone, or even integrated card, am I going to need to run this on maximum, or near-maximum, without many hitches?

Basic set up will be:
i3 or i5 sandy bridge
Windows 7 64 bit
3-6 GB DDR3
7200 RPM HD.

Just curious as to what type of card I need, really. I'm not talking ultra high end, just what I need to run PS on excellent settings.

I have a i7 Sandy Bridge E  3.6GHz overclocked to 4GHz (I could get more but I'm not an overclock nut :p)
32GB DDR3 RAM at 1600 MHz
550Ti graphics card  980 MHz  1GB (not the best but I'm not a big gamer)

and in the fields with all the grass.. there is still a little noticeable lag.

Well, an i7 may be overkill for me but that does give me an idea for a higher end card. thank ya sir

A GeForce generation 8 / 9 works well even in high resolutions, and this is already an outdated family, compared to the modern GT families. But I mean a separate graphic card for desktop PCs. Laptops with "Mobile GPUs" often have a reduced number of shading units or a narrower bus. Compare the values in the GPU guides presented on TechARP.

I figured a GT may do the trick, perhaps something with a slight oomph, but since the rec'd settings were so low I thought i'd ask, see what you top-flight PSers were running.

I have a intel i7 2600k at stock settings 3.4ghz atm
8gb 1600mhz ddr3 kingston hyperx blue ram in dual channel mode
asus p8z68-v pro/gen3 motherboard
asus engtx570 1.28gb graphics card, it's just there in the middle of power vs cost so it's the perfect card for me
1tb seagate sata3 hd + 320gb sata2 hd <- used to be ín my old rig
windows 7 x64

This is my main rig atm, then i have my old rig that seems to be able to run ps still on high settings.

intel pentium 4 3.2ghz oc'd to 3.36ghz with stock cooling
2.5gb 400mhz ddr1 ram
msi 7800gs 256mb AGP graphics card, yes it runs ps
300gb sata1 hd
windows xp x32

I'd go for an ASUS G7SX that will last for many years and doesn't have optimus which is troubles.
