Where has the time gone??  Believe it or not, next month (May 11 to be exact) will mark Explorers' 10th anniversary!   \\o//

I hope we will have some sort of in game celebration.  Although there hasn't been very much activity in awhile, I have been hanging on until this 10 year mark.  Maybe XG can go out with a bang.   :)

As far as an in game account, it doesn't really matter if it's an "active" email account or not.

I created my account in 2004.  After a short while I no longer used it.  It wasn't even a valid domain anymore.  But it didn't effect PS at all.  In fact, it was inactive so long, last year I discovered the domain was legit again so I recreated the account.   ;D

As far as PS, all it really is is an identifier.  It just needs to be active when you create your initial PS account.

You really need to do something about the last 2 NPCs in the tutorial as they sound like a 33 rpm @ 78 rpm (for those that remember records).

Since the dialog is being redone, those audio files will go away anyway.  It was a nice experiment to try and give NPCs an actual voice, but I think it might be time to scrap the idea for now.   :devil:

I would like to also say.. The most we will ever tell you as players is which quest is opened up next in a chain when you complete a quest. So in a A->B->C->D->E chain once you do A the NPC in A will point to B, NPC in B to C etc, take the newest cooking chain as an example. And also bare in mind the current settings people setup very few of the chains as they are right now so how -we- (Mordaan and I) would have done the linking dialog is not how they are. And also remember we are busy people but it will get done, given time.

The big problem is, we started off with a bunch of quests and more and more were added as time went on.  Once factions were added, it was decided "hey, let's group these quests and create storylines or arcs by chaining together quests with common themes and connect them with the factions we created."  Which, in theory, is a good idea.  But these quests were already written so this dialog to provide direction needed to be added at the same time they were chained.  In the mean time, the settings staff exited and new staff has come in.

I feel your pain.  Sorry for the frustration.  What I intend to do is tackle all these quest chains, reorganize them a bit, and add dialog that properly directs you.  But it's a big project and I'll get to it one of these days.  In other words: soonTM.

I particularly like the idea of an equipment exchange or swap meet.  I am always seeing requests to borrow wands or robes.  Here is a chance for everyone looking to complete those quests to get together and mingle with fellow mages.   :D

Yes, that.  It now shows you what you -will- be able to do in addition to what you can already do.  Previously, new entries appeared once you reached the skill to do them.

Also, that text ("With further X skill...") will now be in gray color.

Hi Oromir,

Yes, good to hear from you again.  Not a whole lot has changed as far as the maps/areas.  A facelift for Hydlaa was probably the most obvious.  Our focus now is to make the existing areas better and add/improve features.  The next release should be out very soon and will have some very nice improvements.

Wow, searched for this only to find it was my own wish from several years ago.

After Venalan and I mentioned it a few times, Talad updated the database, so soon all glyphs will have the name "glyph" in them.  It hasn't been done on the production server yet but next update.

Not really earth shattering or anything, just a nice little improvement...it will make system messages much clearer (not to mention the enchanting books).  So next time an NPC gives you a "life", it won't look so funny any more...you will now be given a "life glyph".   :)

I agree with those two points.  Although we want to make it at least somewhat challenging to reach the winch, it shouldn't be pointlessly challenging.  It shouldn't be hard because you're just guessing which quests to do with little or no direction.

The winch door we can do pretty easily.  As for an extra quest with Percival, it's probably not a bad idea.  There are a few more pressing projects to get done first, but this is certainly on our to do list.  (As is adjusting all the chains to have better information and flow.)

--edit: check that, having the winch door point to Percival would have to wait until we have something with Percival (or whatever is decided).  But maybe we can at least remove the Raithen reference and put something else there for now.

I also found that playing in full screen mode works fine for me.
