Wish list / Gaming Hall or Room
« on: March 15, 2002, 09:44:51 am »
It has come to my mind that a gaming Hall or room connected to some tavern might be of some interest to some people.
What I propose is a room within a bar or tavern.Inside the room people may place wagers against one another playing dice games.
This would take away from some of the down time. And would be a great way to either win or lose some great wealth.I believe it would enhance a great game even more.
So along with going to the taverns to have a drink or two.And meet up with some friends there are still some money making opportunity\'s.
Some people im sure would become well fixed occupents of such a place merely because they like to play a game or two while talking without worrying about dying.
Other games such as darts might also be used. And I would appreciate anyone\'s feedback on this.
Any other games that might fit into the time period.that could be used.I thought of cards but the only cards im aware of in the time was tarot though i know a game was made from them I do not recall the name.

Looking forward to your input.

In a cresetto voice, Come ye all and gather round, pauses then continues, placing a finger on his lips.
Prepare ye all to be spellbound with a flourish of his hand, waving it high.

Remarking ,For I bring tales of the greatest Heros and Villians of the land .Grinning wildly
dances around the bar .Looks back across the crowded taproom.Grabbing a stein of fine mead merrily and chugging it down.

Thoughtfully, Or would you perhaps wish just for the band?

Dances around a table, picking up two instruments.
In a questioning voice,
So what shall it be? A story of adventure with monsters to slay heros all returning safe in a day.A tale of murder and deceit where love is found lost in sorrow.Of far off lands and wonderous peoples.Of gods and mortals and company shared perfectly paired.Of Magical potions and brews or demons that put people in stews.

Exclaims, Come now Ladies and Lords and all manner of folk.

In a matter of fact voice, Do not be scared, Just let your choices be known by a show of hands.

*holds up the instruments*one in each hand

Inguiring ,Which shall it be the flute or the lute?

Granted or negated Wishes / Sewers& rooftops

Ok with all the talk about how were gonna stop the bad guys.I think we should give them a few things first and foremost for thieves and hired killers.
They need ways to get away from the law.And us other do gooders.
What im thinking is of course a sewer system for starters with access chutes and grates here and there all over the city.
Also there could be certain areas in the sewers that could be set up as certain peoples guild houses. With secret doors leading to and from there.
As the farther you went into these sewers you would access other caves that would have creatures down in.
Another idea that i would think would be great would be climbing to rooftops from up above you can see down a few different streets and allys.
So you could spy upon certain people plus use it as a get away from the authorities.
Also perhaps there could be crates and such lying around that you could duck into and hide.
people after you would have to use more than Im the good guy heheh im gonna get you tactics, they would have to be careful not to lose you.
And say some bad guy is trying to kill you but your to weak to fight why run down that ally and ..hmm where did he go the roof the sewer or perhaps that door ...better check the crate.
By not evening using a skill such as hide in shadows you can hide and get away ..sometimes....

I remember as a small child i loved the sweet smell of sweetgrass after a morning rain in my village. I would run out racing through the trees darting from the fresh brush.
My brother and I would frolic and play with the other Dermorians(elves)who were our age while our mothers scampered around our mischievious tricks when you could tell they wanted to play along with us.
Yes things were simpler then before I even knew of other races besides our own.I mean I was instructed of course as was my brother but to hear of these others I really thought my Father was pulling one of his jokes.
I mean i had never heard of a dwarf and i remember the description brought me bubbling over with laughter forgive me if that offends however at the time the idea of a 3 foot being with a massize body and a beard as big as himself I really found quite funny.
Heh Still do a bit though I must say the dwarves ive met since then have been some of the most honorable trustworthy individuals ive ever met.
And then we were told about Ylians (humans)and for good and bad this is how my tale begins of how I arrived in Yliakum.

Well a few other clans are accepting people into there clans. And we may be as well however we are not as much a clan as we are.A fellowship of people whose aims are merely to Protect the innocent while banishing the darkness with a easy laugh or a gleaming blade feasting upon the fine quality\'s we each have drinking in each others company.
While composing a sonnet or traveling the world seeking the beauty that lies withen as we uproot the nefarious villians from there roosts as we gamble our fates to a twist in the wind.

Granted or negated Wishes / My thoughts on enchanting&smithing
« on: January 30, 2002, 06:27:55 am »
Everyone seems to be looking for an answer im not sure if this one im just thinking off the top of my head.

first of all No I repeat copper bronze weapons unless we live in a time period that doesnt have better metals if we have better metals then they would be used in smithing of weapons&armors.
However there would still be simply bronze copper tin items that could be made to gain smithing experience such items would be basic fluff adornments and such im sorry but i have smithed before in real life and understand a little about it.
Also I have a feeling that dwarves will be the best people suited to the tasks of smithing but not the only ones.

Neways
Iron I believe should be the first that you make weapons and armors out of

some of the items needed for this furnace, anvil, hammer tongs, apron, gloves, buckets of water ,forming casts ,as well as the metal itself and bellows, salt
it wouldnt be a click click system but would go on percentages % of your smithing ability that would raise as you went up levels. You could smith more and more as you got better and better .
Here is the basic way you would smith using the ore in the furnace you would begin refining the ore (this would take a bit of time )while doing this you work the bellows make sure theres plenty of logs and such to keep the fire going (giving jobs to loggers)(as well as having a job for apprentices you might take on in the future)You know the abled body people that nothing is wrong with them but they got no money or way to make it )anyways keeping the fire hot you would melt down the ore or ores more ores making bigger bars that you would pour the molten liquid into the bar casts (then letting it cool)while there cooling from you pouring them in or an apprentice you would have leisure time to work on other bars you have already made also you could have the apprentice keep runnign the bellows and keeping the fire good and hot while you smith ,anyways you would then take the bar whatever size or bars and using the tongs place it into the coals letting it heat while pulling it back out and beating a shape with the hammer plunging it into the buckets and back out oh and buckets of sand too .
Now there would be a chance for success while making these items and a chance for failure but for basic items and such if you failed and noticed it you could simply reuse the metal smelt it again.

Now with regards to enchanting you would go through the same circles however there would be different powders, dust, potions, and spells needed as well as very high smithing lvls

different items would need different things to make them work

perhaps also there could just simply be enchanting potions you smith the metal or have someone smith it for you pour on the potion and cast the spells into it or use different items to make the same kind of effect a spell caster could do .

hmm let me think about this somemore and i\'ll repost
I think im onto something concerning spells and alchemy perhaps there could be various ways of enchanting items
