Part 1- Dark Deeds
Chapter 1
The loads of seaweed had finally been hauled up to the second level. It always took so long for it to make its way up from the 7th level. It looked as though there was a problem with the shipment as the merchants on the pulley deck were yelling at the escort that had brought the seaweed up from the lake. Getting closer i heard something about the seaweed being already dead. Getting even closer I hid behind one of the bayles of seaweed. I could hear every word being spoken. \"What do you mean it is always like this!? Are you mad? These bundles look like they have been rotting for weeks!\" Treyoul, the goods inspector for the second level, was shouting. \"I dont know what all the fuss is about its just a bit of dead seaweed,\" said the escort,
\"Just accept this batch, I promise i will check the next one.\" \"You should have checked this one! It has been coming in like this for so long! Thats it! I am going to get to the bottom of this. Ikarsik!\" I was being called out. I had been waiting for this. My job was to travel around parts of Yliakum inspecting everything and making sure everything was alright. I had been assigned to work for Treyoul. Treyoul was ok if you stayed out of his way, which meant getting as far away from him as possible. I started walking back towards the pulley operators house. I couldnt let Treyoul know I had been listening. I ran around the building ten went around the bayles of seaweed. The seaweed did look a little bit darker than normal. I walked out into the open towards Treyoul trying to look like i didn\'t know anything. When I arrived at The pulley Treyoul was already shoving me onto the lift. \"I know you were listening. You will be punished when you get back young man. But that will be later. Right now you have to find out what those Nolthrir are playing at. Treyoul signalled to the pulley master and the pulley master started to move the horses with his whip. The horses began to turn the windlass above the lift and the lift began to sink down into the rocky hole dug out in the side of the second level. I Watched as Treyoul walked away. I always hated dwarves. Mostly because Treyoul was one but also because they were short and devious. The sky began to dissapear as i descended deeper into the hole.
