'New updates availible'

Hi, its me again...

So i'm running Planeshift verson 0.19a on my mac, it works fine but,

Each time i log in it says 'New updates availible'

Its really annoying because when i get this message, i have to enter my email and password again... despite it bieng on *remember my password* and all my shortcuts get erased

How do i fix this?

I have version.dat but each time i drag it into the trash it says i dont have sufficient privilages...

My account is an Adminstrator....

it seems a lot of mac users update and then they have client probems. so maybe you are best not updating and just living with your client if it works. none of the updates are urgent that they would keep you from playing.

I wanna update it so it will save my shortcuts... it keeps getting deleted and going back to the original ones

check the permissions of planeshift.cfg and /data/options/shortcutcommands.xml

When i click 'get info' under ownership permissions it says you can read and write

when i try and change some code it says access denied

are you sure you are admin? and have you tried to reinstall in another directory to see if that helps

I am defiately an admin...

How do i install another directory?

Both my computers say this in get info.

You can Read & Write
Details:
Owner: System
Access: Read & Write.

 Now AS for updating, use Chaos's Updater.jar, when asked if you want to update omitted files click Omit, also check Apply to all omitted files. [ find it in here] A Guide to Running Planeshift on Mac OS X.

This should then save you changes.

I found out what i think the problem is  , it wasnt letting me delete version.dat because i was running ps from the disk drive image, i dragged and dropped Planeshift 3D into one of my folders then i deleted version.dat

The server is not reachable  .. so I will tell you guys if it works later today

Planeshift works but i STILL get the new updates are availible message.... i have already removed version.dat

It dosnt remember the e-mail adress or password

It dosnt remember shortcuts

what now??

I cant use updater.jar its says mirror failed using backup mirror then it says download failed....

Have you tried to update leaving the version.dat alone. I.E. do not remove it.

Yep, tried it before copping PS, it didn't work,
Tried it after cooping PS, didn't work,
Tried it after moving version.dat, didn't work...

 Sorry run out of ideas, accept run disk utilities. Permissions.

Give it 6 weeks and you'll learn to ignore it like a few other ....  As for me, I can now look right through GMs like they're not even there. One day you too will reach this level of Zen in PS.

Yeah strange.. ounce i thaught a GM was there.. but i coudnt see anyone...

anyway its prettymuch fixed now.... I realised that after i coppied PS the shortcut was opening the one on the disk 

After i changed my shortcut to the coppied PS i get the message ' run updater for updates ' but it remembers my shortcuts, quests n all heh
