It would be a good idea for you to follow tutorials and read articles or some books if you want to learn :] We're looking for people who are confident in their skills already when they want to contribute, and while we all learn during our time here, we have to know what to do in the beginning.

Some of us are more than happy to give people pointers and tips as we work, but being full-time tutors is not something our modelers have the time for, that much I can tell you immediately..

Keep studying and practicing though! Our community is full of artists who will be happy to help you out if you post your work here for critiques.

Great, we can always use more people on the team :)
Once you're sure of your abilities as a modeller, you can apply  here

www.blender.org 100%free but is somewhat harder to learn the basics than some comercial software out there.

on a sidenote, and offtopic, it would be nice to have character anatomy measures :)

atleast it could be usefull for making better fan mods insted off hitting a trial and error barrier

Time to pimp my site for this sort of thing:   look at http://vaalnor.mine.nu/psdoc  there are some good tutorials on getting started, using blender and gimp and blender2crystal to export, etc...

for the contributor status, how does it work do i have to email talad (2d and 3d) then wait for a assignment when finnished wait for another and so forth?
and the possibility of contacting one of the members of the department to get a assignment? i wouldnt mind making a sound recording if necessary giving copyright if needed..??

Right now Talad is trying to concentrate on team members before any non-team contributors. To be considered as a contributor at this point in time, you have to do some really amazing work to prove that you have what it takes and don't need to be managed all the time.

If you are interested and think you are up to it, send a regular application to the team but mention that you are simply interested in a contributor status somewhere on there. Talad is the only guy who can help you out there, since he is the current 2D/3D department leader. No one else gives out assignments.
