Poetry - City of Azure
« on: March 02, 2003, 11:16:28 pm »
A weary adventurer happened upon a tacked-up piece of parchment on one Kada-El Tavern wall.  Despite frayed edges, the text was scrawled neatly and provided an easy read.

City of Azure

Sleepy City of the Azure Sun
Daily toil has just begun;
Nestled between Stone Labyrinth\'s keep
And lucid Nolthrir waters deep.

Sweet City of the Azure Sun
Your beauty shone enough to stun;
Surrounded by cool streams and ethereal skies
What true darkness donned such guise?

Strained City of the Azure Light
Tensions flowed by ancient plight;
Against glacial Laanx and ardent Talad
Can relations turn from those deemed pallid?

Stoic City of the Azure Light
Let those quarrel not over ancestral site;
Be it Xacha, Diaboli, Lemur or Kran
Across aeons your people must span.

Sole City of the Azure Dawn
Be watchful toward malevolent brawn;
Dire abominations wished an overtake
Life herself perpetually at stake.

Serene City of the Azure Dawn
Never will hope become withdrawn;
Untrammeled spirits of Hereos will soar
Your children forever ablaze in lore.

Thank you very much, Keldorn!  I am pleased someone enjoyed my poem.  If anyone else has opinions on the work, do not be afraid to post - I can take criticism well (helpful criticism, not harmful/flaming).

Kahlisi, I very much enjoy your poetry.  You have talent, my friend...
You are here,
You will always be here,
You will never be there.
Although you may strive to get there,
upon reaching there you will realize you are really here.
And there is everywhere else.
