Poetry - Rogue's Hymn
« on: March 03, 2003, 04:21:15 pm »
A second verse rested beneath its predecessor at the spacious Kada-El Tavern.  The Ylian Poet and Rogue, Kahlisi Seirpo, placed one Hexa on a vacant stool.  The coin tribute was for Kada-El\'s Tavernkeeper and their gracious nature in concern with poetry postings.

Kahli slipped away unnoticed by those filled with ale and liquor.

Rogue\'s Hymn

Lonely are the Roguish tale
Our tears unseen through onyx veil.
Lonely are the Roguish trial
Our mood askance with wistful style.
Lonely are the Roguish tune
Our solitude lit by azure moon.

Silent is the Roguish theme
One\'s dagger-kiss with supple gleam.
Silent is the Roguish trance
One\'s cloaked self in macabre stance.
Silent is the Roguish tact
One\'s nimble hands trained to be exact.

Ruthless can be the Roguish trust
Yet we attain friendship near robust.
Ruthless is the Roguish tone
Yet we suppress a strangled moan.
Ruthless is the Roguish test
Yet only one shall become the best.

- Kahlisi Seirpo

you know what you should do? You should join the settings department and make poems for PlaneShift that will be in the game. In books and stuff.

Thanks!  I appreciate the compliment in someone thinking my writing is up to par for putting into the PlaneShift universe.

Oh, I sent off my r?sum? for a Background/Settings WTB-Member on Friday.  I just figured I could post some sonnets to prove my worth.  *crosses fingers*  I hope I\'m accepted.   :D

(Edit: And I completely understand NDA Agreements, which if I am accepted into the PS Member area I could not post any, if all, writings which I write for in-game purposes.  However, taking that small setback isn\'t such a bad thing.)

Great work Kahilsi, I don\'t really like much poetry, but I liked this one.  Good luck on getting into the PS team

Kahlisi, I think you have the best poetry on this forum.  You should definitely continue.
You are here,
You will always be here,
You will never be there.
Although you may strive to get there,
upon reaching there you will realize you are really here.
And there is everywhere else.
