Title: Jilerel's 3D Assets and Models
Post by: Jilerel on January 30, 2016, 08:05:54 am
Using Planeshift textures, I'll be posting some 3D assets and models that could be used in the game !
On each screen, I'll try to make one without texture and materials, and one with them.

PS : I'm still working on the houses !

Some fallen tree bark
(35k / 900 polygons)

Looks great; but ...

Triangle count? This mesh looks high-res. In-game props will have a rather conservative limit.

Don't post huge images directly in this forum, even though they get resized... use linked thumbnails instead.

Indeed, high triangle count (35k), I'm uploading a version with low poly.

A blue crystal
In a pseudo cavern (140 polygons)

First time doing something like that, and it turned out... Well, not perfect, but satisfied by it.

I like it. Only critique is that it looks as if it's been artificially stuck into the ground. If there were smaller crystals and heavier variation at the bottom it wouldn't look like it was crashing so much.

Training dummies
In a pseudo plain (500/260/100 poly and 6500/1350/700 poly)

Again, first try at this, but it seems fine !

I like especially the "clothed" dummy.

Archery Targets
Floating in the sky (700/400/200 poly and 200/200/200 poly)

Used the same texture for the target as the cloth for the straw dummies, can be repainted at will.

Nice Job Again!
Can you make a circle on them for a bullseye?

Texturing is not always the job of the modeller as well. Often it is done by different developers.

Reasonable design, Jirerel, I'd like to see them in game.

Hey all,

I'm pleased to say Jilerel has donated these to PlaneShift and I am in the process of finalising addition of them into the art repo so they can be included in the next update.

That is a very nice desk. It could be used to make a nice normal map for a lower poly desk model.
