I don't know why, but I only get this problem now when I build the client myself.  The distro client works just fine for me with VBO.  I'm using the Windoze 64-bit distro, but I build my client as Win32.

EDIT:  Just built myself a 64-bit Windoze client (against the cs-winlibs-x64-1.9_004 libs), fired up VBO and it works just fine for some blasted reason.  So I get this problem with VBO turned on only with 32-bit Windoze clients but not with 64-bit Windoze clients.

Just buy large crates, fill them up and place them close enough to the mule alt that he/she can pick up the crate, even if already overloaded.
Large crates weigh 540 now on Fragnetics.  This is more than anyone can carry.  The only way this would work is if you can park every single one of your alts next to the vendor that sells them.

EDIT:  I don't think that vendor sells them any more.

That's not what I meant, chugging the client and chugging the server are not the same thing.  That's the difference between getting a thousand people in the same room casting Flame Spire versus getting a thousand people in the same room jumping up and down.  If none of them applied (and they don't on my machine) then we still don't know.

This post is mainly aimed at guilds that have 1,000s of items in their guildhouse, just piled up everywhere. Picking one guild house, it has 1800+ items in 850+ separate stacks, now imagine that multiple times in hydlaa plaza?? When the server loads, each of the stacks of items in every instance of guildhouses are pre-loaded into the server memory, this is where the problem is.
Considering there's no lockdown/secure system for housing, there's no way to tell what levels of items are acceptable.  Houses will just keep accumulating more and more crap considering the only mechanism that really makes said crap go away is guildhouse raids.  Did those figures include mounts by the way?

What the heck is that on top, an attic?   :o   Not having ever owned a GH, I'm not sure of the various configurations.   :)

I'm not saying it's ideal, like I've said, real-action based rp is where it's at if you ask me.
I'm not too sure if I would consider PlaneShift to be real-action based RP since it's not FFA PvP.

How is that managed in Endless anyway? Emotes or something?
The Endless Forest is worse than a glorified chatroom.  If they want to moo, they click on the moo icon.  They can also wander around some forest, sniff each others' butts and whatever they do in that horrible thing.  I know of a few oldbies here who actually enjoyed it for whatever reason.

Why would I do it on EZ? It's completely empty.
Because what you want to do is a multi-game guild.  The direction that Fragnetics is going in now, it takes a player who seriously wants to be a dedicated PlaneShift player to play on Fragnetics any more.  I can't imagine a large group of people playing PlaneShift casually among other MMOs that would survive on that shard.  Of cousre that's just my opinion though.

What do you mean? Anywhere with text is a place where roleplaying can happen. Although in MO, you can rp based much more on actions. :)
I'm not too sure if I agree with this.  The Endless Forest doesn't have text and all they do is roleplay because there's nothing else to do in there except pretend you're a deer.  In games like Mortal Online, it really depends on how pathetic the community is.  I've played several PvP-centric games that have absolutely no roleplaying in them such as Regnum Online and Crowns of Power, which have communities that are laughable.  Darkfall's community is a joke.  The only PvP game I've ever played that was mature enough to support serious roleplaying was Ultima Online.

Considering this is a multi-game guild, I don't know why you are doing this on Fragnetics and not EZ-PC.

Perhaps a short message could be posted for those who are able to log into PS to see immediately as they log in. I know my guild has crafted items for new arrivals to use and I haven't spoke to anyone who can get into PS yet . . .

You shouldn't even have to do it that way.  The problem with 3DSmax is that only 3DSmax can open .max files.  You shouldn't have to use more than one exporter for something like this.
