"minor" issues
« on: January 19, 2006, 06:58:01 pm »
Hello,
My \"minor\" issues is
1) I can\'t log in, it said \"you are not running the correct version of Planetshift for this server\", and I just downloaded the client?
2) I can\'t move the \"client\" around, it\'s stuck with mre\'n half of it stuck in mid-air above my moniter, if my moniter were bigger & my moniter is plenty big. The \"blue\" bar isn\'t avible, the left-click move won\'t work either, what do I do on both subjects?

First off run the updater and see where that leaves you.
<Rux> i wish i could say that narrows it down, but the internet is one freaky place

\"updater\" where is THAT found, and don\'t give me some answer about on the website, and if I just downloaded it TODAY and about a half hour later I couldn\'t log in I mean shouldn\'t the download auto-update the link?
I did it directly fromthe site, seriously I can not have my pc sitting there for 72 hours downloaded when i\'m at 100MB per S. and it;s going at 6 KB per S?

*edit*

I\'m running Version 0.3.012
Isn\'t that the newest neways?
& shouldn\'t the donload from the site have been updated automaticlly so if u just downloaded u don\'t need to dsownload again?

Please avoid posting two or more successive posts before others have replied. Just edit your last post to add new information :) Thanks! --Karyuu

You still need to update to get any extra art and other info. The updater should be in you start menu if you use windows, or in the PS dir for linux and windows and prolly mac... Though see the specific forums for updating linux and mac platforms.

How long does an upate take?

*edit*

unfournately this doesn\'t adress my other \"minor\" issue, if I can\'t see about half the client I can\'t play, correct?
That is a \"minor\" issue though.

For the second issue see what the updater does.... The time it takes depends on what speeds you get. Also use the edit button to add more to your posts.

Time for me to drop off now, bed *hands the torch over the nigth watch*

Nvm I found out, about 12% in 3 minutes,
which is about 24 minutes till download complete?
more or less 12%/3minutes
3 X 60 = 180 seconds meaning  4%/1min
4%/1min =  .15% a second.

*edit*

Thank you, good night.
Bed time at about 10:00PM?
bedtimes lolz.
I\'m a 26YRO why\'m I talking about bedtimes with an offline kid?
& no ui\'m not gay.

I\'m 17.... its 20 past midnight school in the morning. I\'m not gay either....

If the other problem continues you could try these, from the \"READ THIS BEFORE POSTING!\" thread.

First off use the edit button.

Next describe the exact problem including any errors or messages.

Editation! I\'m really going this time >.> hopefully someone else will come along to help, though you could always try searching the forums for something to help you.

Best merge messages, ever!  LOL!  :P

Karlf:  Way to be oblivious, buddy...  ;)  It\'s very annoying to have to sift through piles of self-replys.  It sucks up space, and it\'s just stupid.  Just use the edit button to add new information.

About your #2:  If your client\'s window is off the screen, and doesn\'t fit, that means you\'re running the client at a resolution larger than your screen.  You can shrink the game\'s resolution in the setup program, or better:  Don\'t run your computer at such a low resolution.  Goto control panel > display > settings > screen resolution.  If it\'s anything less than 1024x768, your computer is setup wrong.  (if you have a \"big\" monitor, it\'s setup really wrong)  Fix it.
