Stuck on Arena steps, avoid this area!!!

On third set of steps, clockwise from entrance steps, game crashes on character entry (my main character plus one i just made up).

There seems to be a problem with the sounds in the arena. But it crashes for only a few people. Try the solution given here:

I think what LigH is saying... follow the link, which says to add the following line to the art/soundlib.xml file, just before the </Sounds> XML tag, it's right at the end of the soundlib.xml file...

If this works for you, please let us know, because it didn't work for me.

I hate messing with this stuff....
Better idea, will it be fixed next version? Perhaps I'll just wait.   

But when I get impatient, I may try it....

Disable Sound from the PlaneShift Launcher->Settings->Audio, move away from the area (I moved back into the Arena), exit, re-run with Sound enabled, all is good again . Maybe the rat that was hanging around and initially about to send me to DR had something to do with it.
