Learning Curve

Okay, I ran around in PS for a while, looking for people. I found a few people running around, but their names were blue (does that mean they're NPCs?) and they did not respond to "Hi" or "How do I mine?"...

I'm totally stumped on how to play this game, much less develop for it! (Well, actually I'm less stumped as a developer, that must be easier than playing...) How the heck am I supposed to learn how to mine if there's no responsive players near the starting location, the help channel is unmanned, and people aren't allowed to discuss mining on the forums???

NPCs are listed in blue, yes. They certainly do respond to "Hi" and if they don't you can hand me some logs and I'll look into it personally.

I can only guess your starting location was Ojaveda. In that case, try the smithy, and especially its second floor, to look for people. Otherwise, you can try taking a walk.

Unless you are addressing them as a player not an NPC. If they are an NPC you need to target them to talk to them, just speaking out loud won't do the trick. So right click and click on the mouth icon.
