Very nice, but is it even possible to own the copyrights to a piece of art that is a derivative of PS art? (especially something as distinct and identifiable as a map of a location)

FAN art rule 6. If you wish to use someone's art in a signature, website or anything, you must first have the artist's full permission to do so. Do not alter other people's artwork in any way unless you have their permission to do this also.

do you think someone interested in that map will ask over "can i use your map?" im not sure. i dont want to see the work of my lelerey and i "stole". i take the example of the outlaw's maps....

They can own copyright over any bit of the work which is theirs, or the whole thing if 100% of it is theirs.
