You'd probably guess Ylian is the closest possible demonym for Yliakum (Ylian-Yliakum).

Yes you could possibly use leather or medium armor and change it's textures to look like clothing. Far more easier, yes. But at the moment if you look around PS there are so many other things to be fixed and created by the art devs. Races aren't even finished and that is something far more important than clothing at the moment. My guess is that you would need races to be finalised and probably even animation (character movements) to make implementing clothing feasible. I don't think Planeshift is at that stage yet.

We all have to noodle Teshia?

whining

Whining - to produce a sustained noise of relatively high pitch
Pitch - the distinctive quality of a sound, dependent primarily on the frequency of the sound waves produced by its source

* Vakachehk leans in closer to his laptop trying to hear noises coming from it's speakers
I think I'm deff :P

oh well...

I'm really glad this is happening!
Well here's my opinion on the tutorial...

The layout or look of the tutorial is a bit annoying (yes I'm talking about the updated map, it is nicer than the old one). I think having everyone inside a shop or stall would look and work much better. Starting in an outdoor bakery for Abelia, then going to a blacksmith shop for Neave and then maybe for Ibhaar a little arena or you have to go into his basement of his house and kill some rats, get creative. At the moment it seems to take you round in circles, seems small, the buildings seem pointless, feels completely OOC and not like you are actually in a part of Hydlaa the largest city.

All the quests you do should be much more brief, especially Xargon (the Klyros and the last person to talk to) is completely a pain, so frustrating. He completely blabbers on and on and on. (Well the last time I did the tutorial he did.) I think his part needs to be at least halved. Much much much more brief!! Overall the five quests should take around 20-30 minutes.

Make it so that the rats in the tutorial take about 15-20 seconds to kill, taking no health points from the character. All rats in the tutorial drop hides, so you don't have to kill heaps till you finally get one to give to Ibhaar.

Be able to skip parts you aren't interested in, I certainly wouldn't be interested in cooking/baking or magic (I'd much rather read a pop-up at a later stage or get some help from a friend on how to purify a glyph).
Here's an example, Abelia sends you to Neave, Neave asks you if you are interested in learning how to use a furnace, if you say "No I'm not interested" maybe the help tab (off the main toolbar) flashes once or twice and a little pop up saying you can learn how to use a furnace at anytime/later stage here.
Maybe it's a little town center with various shops you can enter and choose to do quests with the vendor inside instead of it being a set of quest chains and the map being a little maze.

On a slightly off topic point.
Attacks from the Stone Labrynths seems a fair external 'current setting' or reasoning for the tutorial, how about there being internal issues as well, like the Ojaveda Plague being more widespread in the dome or something else as well to give reasoning for the lack of access to most parts of the dome. If you don't want that at least extend the idea of the Ojaveda Plague to be very obvious in Ojaveda - have guards by blocked gates automatically telling you it's closed off due to the plague, have barricades against the gates to stop people trying to get through, add some info about it in quests.

General Discussion / Laanx Dungeon
« on: September 25, 2012, 07:46:44 am »
Lately I've spent a bit of time down in the the Laanx Dungeon and I was just wondering about it's origin and reason(s) for existence. Is it actually there for the temple and/or Laanx? I mean if you enter the dungeon from the temple you go through a well and a cave not a proper built entrance :/

Is it a burial well, or a catacomb (like the one in Paris, that'd be pretty cool)
Was it built as a safe haven? Maybe in case all the Talad followers start a ragging war against them?

I tried to see what PSWiki might say about it, but it had nothing of value. I also didn't find any books dedicated to it in Jayose's Library. So just wondering if anyone might know?

I do think that Dannae presents a valid (and funny) point in her example.  That's something that you see come up lots of times, especially when it comes to RP-fighting.  Aramara also makes a good point about this, here:

most people do break their dialogue and actions up into separate posts, which is how i used to play as well. But that creates a problem where you're never sure when that player is 'done'.

The uncertainty of whether to proceed with a RP or not can be hindering to the general flow of the storyline, itself.  Whether or not the ability to tag in /me and /my into a sentence will ultimately fix this problem is uncertain, but I do feel confident that it would certainly help address the issue.

Maybe if you want to split your comment up put at the end of your comment in brackets [to be continued] or [tbc].

I like Bonifarzia's idea on the /narative.

This is waaaay off topic but, with RP what I find holds me back and is a main reason why most of the time I don't really enjoy RPing is the chat tab in general. It's very annoying and basic, the selecting words and copy/paste would be beneficial. But what about the option for RPers to have the whole of the bottom screen the box to type your comment (like http://webchat.freenode.net/) and have the chat tab above it to the left or right of the screen. The availability to have 2 or 3 or 4 or however many lines, so your text will pop down to the next line until you reach your chosen cap and then your text starts to disappear off the side. (I hope that made sense).
