[Out of boredom, I'm going to start off a poem, and then you add a stanza to it. We keep going with this and there should be a really interesting poem. Stick to a stanza at a time and remember it doesn't have to be a story, and you can change the stanza structure as you post (if a,a,b,b is boring for you, not that I would start it like that). Remember, put comments in square brackets.]
Enter the dark
Where eyes stare out
Where the devil sleeps
As the vile come about
As it sounds it's peeps
Then it makes it's mark
-
And with a mark left clear.
For all eyes to see.
The viles and devils all creep back.
To the dark and into the black.
-
For the blackness is their dwelling
as the light is that of ours
But when the two shall meet
your life shall fill with horrors
-
for some this contrast is hard to see
as we tend to lean towards one extreme
we still reject that which keeps us free
letting life run away down the stream
the light and dark compete for time
yet it is the dark in our hearts we fear
those parts of our conscious, our mind
the hardest to face, the easiest to hear
-
And perhaps somewhere
Someone has faced his darkness
And truly broken free of chains
And if one as such exists
Then i shall follow his example
And cower from my darkness no more
The time has come
And my patience is gone
It is my turn to make the shadows cower
For this is my mind
And my destiny is built here
And with my own my mind i protect it.
[Did i go overboard ?]
-
My light shall shine bright and strong
Purging the darkness from within me
And should I emmerge vicorious
I will at long last be free
But darkness still remains
Even in the brightest light
Hiding, waiting in the shadows
Always there, yet out of sight
-
Stare on into the dark
Stare on into the vile
Hold on to your soul
Hold on to your heart
The darkness makes it's mark
The darkness wants you
If you are strong you will go on

[i just got to copy this one.Its plain great.Nice idea of starting something like this Okim but this poem made it to the finish sp now we need a new one....hope i dont mess up]
It is plain and simple.
And yet so god damn hard to understand.
What goes around in that mind of yours.
It in my grasp but strangely out of reach.
And yet you strangely decide to preach me.
That i neither try nor understand.
The feelings that you always keep hiden from me.
-
[Fair enough]
Tell me why you hide
I thought it was obvious
Yet now I don't understand
It is plain and simple
So have you surely lost your mind
As you let everything you know die
How can anyone understand
-
[*Hmmm? Jaycol finds something interesting. ]
[I'll pick that up where it was left off, and see it finished]
You have closed yourself to the world,
And scorn myself and others.
How selfish is your pain,
That your cherish it so close.
You say no one understands,
no one listens to you.
But do you ever really share,
anything but your own contempt.
I have reached out my hand to you,
you are now too blind to see.
It is plain and simple,
you closed your world to me.
Your preaching is berating,
of the things you never share.
In sorrow, you hurt those that love you,
Seemingly without a care.
So, cherish your thoughts in darkness,
when you finally weep, then come to me.
I'll offer again my hand to you,
I pray you'll have the strength to reach.
-
[Seeing that done, it's time for some fun, A new verse or two, then I'll leave it for you.]
It the market stands a maiden
The Joy in her heart glows upon her face
She smiles while she is trading
Her features are so out of place
One wonders what thoughts may employ her,
As she glides about with such grace
Her dress is a pattern of blurs
Decorated with frizzles of lace
-
[Ok, Three then]
[Jaycol chums the water wondering if this is a good place to fish]
She purchased a basket of apples
she picked out a yam or two
her smile displayed her dimples
complimenting her eyes of deep blue
-
[oooh fun!]
She harbors a natural curiosity
for the creepy and the strange
though others bear her no animosity
They kinda wish that she would change
While a proper well-bred lady
Would prefer a fuzzy pet
This gal prefers the bugs so shady,
she collects them in a net!
-
[Jaycol strains against the urge to add the next verse. Wiping the beads of sweat from his forehead, he chums the water again and waits to see if something comes in]
-
* Jaycol shrugs. "Oh well then."
(By the way Anumesa nice twist)
The many men that have come courting
Had fled from her parlor in haste
Because one or two of these critters
Had crawled up upon his face
Today though she is shopping
Gliding from booth to booth
purchasing vegetables
and some meat for a stew
She pretends not to take notice
The many sets of following eyes
As she pinches, taps, and shakes
The fresh produce that she buys
