Can't figure out whats wrong

 it gets to the load screen so I can join the game and it crashes at the end of the load, I'm on windows 7 I've updated the game made sure my drivers where up to date or w/e and downloaded the 64 bit (which is the one i need) and still can't find out what's wrong with it, anything I can fix to get it to work?

I had a problem a bit like that once, all I did was redownload the game [of course that was back in 4.02 so it probably has nothing to do with anything]

dont think so, already tried that and still having the same problems.

Try to talk with people in technically affine PS related IRC channels (like #planeshift-build on FreeNode); it is well possible that some are able to investigate using errorlog.txt or the console output.

Just yesterday I helped someone who's game crashed already before even showing the main window. He allowed me to use TeamViewer, so I was able to discover from console output that the Software SoundRenderer could not be loaded... a switch to OpenAL and it worked (Windows XP 32b).
