Here I'd like to hear your comments regarding the comic strip (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=39540.0) "The Do
omed Ones" (notice, the strikethrough "o" is done on purpose :P)
-
Why is everybody frowning or grinning mischievously? O.o
-
Because of paresis.
-
looks like the dude has a light sabre
-
Wonderful. \\o// The first successful crafting of Lumium-powered weapons under The Dome. ;D
BTW - are you a hitchhiker, Boeven, wearing a towel now?
-
I'm wearing it right now :P
-
Always entertaining, your comics, Boeven. You got a feeling for matching topics and style.
The last one seems to be similar to some of the first Noob Comic episodes about "Happy Fields". ;)
-
It's a common problem, I guess. ;D
A newcomer had an unfortunate meeting with arangmas last year. He thought PlaneShift was like others RPGs around, and came in forums asking for our opinions. Poor boy...
-
Nice :) The idea reminds me a bit of the Noob Comic: http://thenoobcomic.com/index.php?pos=1
-
This remark reminds me on my own, 2 posts above ... :P
-
LOL it must be a very popular comic... ;D
-
Of course ... but yours is just as unique. I wonder if Gianna is able to tell her opinion about yours... ;)
Do you need funny stories as inspiration, or do you see enough to use?
-
You anticipated my intentions, LigH.
I thought indeed to ask for help to everyone.
So...
If you have some scene in mind, something you think is funny, some (short) script, you're welcomed.
You've seen the goal: one, two or three scenes with a punchline closing the strip.
I'll choose the ones simple enough for my (limited) modules. ;)
My PM area is open to suggestions.
-
Hahah pretty good Boeven!!! I think those guys should talk about the new Klyros magic robes too \\o// :woot: ;)
-
Hey, Qter, the comments thread is not here. Go here (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=39541.msg448288#msg448288) to comment.
-
I'd be glad to talk about new klyros robes, unfortunately I haven't seen one yet, I'm scarcely online lately. I guess that someone found some flaws in the design? Much respect for the designer, eh? Is it Tuux? By the way, Youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/PlaneShiftOfficial) is really interesting!
-
IMHO they look a bit like fleece ... do you know the security blanket of Linus van Pelt (Peanuts)?
Thanks to Kiaerulf for lending me one.
-
OMG! Boeven... these are sooooo awesome! Very cute and funny
-
Ow thanks guys, now I see... the image I had in mind was this:
but I feel as well the real one inspiring me ;D
Very... traditional. Someone could explain to me why it reminds me the Oktoberfest? Simple craziness, maybe?
Still, I like the fact that's not hooded.
-
(http://cosgan.de/images/smilie/frech/o030.gif)
A Klyros Linus!
-
Boeven, you're a genius
/me bows
-
Oops! I apologize, I wasn't aware there was another section for comments. My bad! :-[
Well but at least we could have instead of a hood a hat like this: :sorcerer: Hahahaha Just kidding. Way to go Boeven!
-

Well but at least we could have instead of a hood a hat like this: :sorcerer: Hahahaha Just kidding. Way to go Boeven!
I appreciate your enthusiasm, Qter :). And I thought to that hat from the very first moment... If I manage to draw a convincing Hobbit you'll see.
Anyway that robe is fluctuating in my brain, I'm sure some shaking will help me.
Our very active friends from www.psde.de (http://www.psde.de) were so kind to provide me some precious suggestions, even a script. I'm confident that the strip will be online by the end of July.
Just out of curiosity:
It seems I underestimated the time necessary to assemble a comic strip :P It's not question of minutes, more an hour or so...
The strips are SVG vector graphics composed by modules, the program is Inkscape 0.48.1 r9760 for Linux.
I'm using also a Wacom Bamboo Pen, it really makes the difference. It helps also when your mouse has drained the batteries and you don't want to ask your neighbor a couple of AA, because he remember well that you owe him two bottles of milk and a driller.
So far I've used 874 different basic objects to assemble the modules in drawings.
Here's an "exploded" klyros:
This method is interesting since you don't need to be a fine artist to make these strips, it's more like playing with Lego. ;)
-
Hehe, then you can also make animations using those parts :)
Here is even an example how to do it with CSS animations in the browser:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/demos/detail/rofox-css3-animation-by-anthony-calzadilla
-
Hello,
Said to drop a comment about a signiture so here it is :)
Many thanks.
-
You know, I saw one of your posts early, and I thought "that's quite a nice signature". 4 more posts for PMs ;)
-
Ill get there eventually :D
-
:) nice stuff all!
But when I saw the hitchhiking Klyros... well, that made me glad \\o// !
(uh, by the way... 42!)
-
As a big fan of the series, I must say that even if I'm feeling blue, the may 25th really cheer me up!
Obviously, I wouldn't expect less from an Explorer :)
-
Wonderful new strips, Boeven!
Of course, Remant had to be the weak piece in the chain ... and where was Finara, having lunch?! :P
And indeed ... Aldaaren knows how to soften stone knees with all his dramatism.
-
and where was Finara, having lunch?! :P
I haven't decided yet... there are lots of possibilities... even some that involve a certain doctor... :P
-
:-[ I would be honored to see Dr. Lesiros Forita in one of your strips... :innocent:
-
\\o// Thank you, Boeven, so very very much! :flowers:
Although ... Jecewie was the one with the poison research ... :innocent:
-
I don't know what you're talking about... Oh maybe you are referring to Dr. Lesionis... ;)
-
The ammount of Klyros in these strips is suspiciously high… favoritism, maybe?
Also, looks like someone likes Charlie Brown a bit too much xD
-
I admit, I'm klyros-centric. I have wings. It's my nature, there's nothing I can do about it.
The amount of klyros material is perfectly understandable, these strips are for me another way to immerse myself in the character.
You know, we are a proud race, and we'll rule the world, one day. The real world.
But from a RP point of view the klyros race was my second choice, since I couldn't play as Eccentrica Gallumbits. ;)
Don't worry, looking at the ready strips I have, there are no klyros at all...yet. :P
To be honest, I see plenty of enkis in fan art... and in Internet memes... and in my neighborhood...Come to think, maybe is rejection.
Charlie Brown, mmmh... an Ylian perhaps?
-
Indeed ... Dr. Lesiros Forita is not even half as ... acquisitive? ... Hmm. I am no native speaker. What did it mean?
;)
__
If Charlie Brown was an Ylian, then Snoopie would be a Yulbar, and Woodstock a Groffel ... naah. What a nonsense, ridiculous!
C'mon, get the Nolthrir in the fountain for a Pool Party! ;D
-
#11: ;D I know that joke with "eating apple seeds" ... perfectly adapted. \\o//
-
"... And the Best Adapted Screenplay Award goes to... Bonifarzia!"
"For a script in episode #11 of the series 'The Doomed Ones'." ;D
-
that last one with the intelligence trainer was the funniest.
-
"... And the Best Adapted Screenplay Award goes to... "
Thanks for the announcement. You most certainly made the best of the script. \\o//
-

I think I may have found a relative/ rule 63 version of you Mishka- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP4NMoJcFd4&feature=related
But in topic-related, looks very good! Gotta find which ore you used on that lightsaber... Maybe just a big rod of metal and some clever RW?
-
Cheers for Klyros Intersection... whatever it means. :P
(http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/9914/g6453.png)
As LigH pointed out early... Lumium could be used for a lightsabre :D
And I'd say the same for my yulbar, I suppose. Mainly because my yulbar bites.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP4NMoJcFd4
-
;D Oooh, sexy Sarras here?!
-
:o lmao ;D
-
You can probably make a magical light saber casting: Summon + Light + Weapon ;)
-
You can probably make a magical light saber casting: Summon + Light + Weapon ;)
And using different crystals for different colour blades :)
-
Gilrond you're a genius... They should make that a spell, need like realm 3 in each of those ways and a gemstone as a catalyst.
-
what is summon, AW? if so i've been training in the three appropriate ways and hereby second (or third?) the implementation of such a spell. \\o//
-
what is summon, AW? if so i've been training in the three appropriate ways and hereby second (or third?) the implementation of such a spell. \\o//
Brown way actually! I see how it could have gone either way though.
-
that's right, i was thinking of that humanoid glyph I have and haven't found a use for.
-
Most advanced spells only work in a certain combination of glyphs.
And specifically the "Humanoid" glyph used to be an element in a "Dweomer" spell which was later disabled, IIRC (possibly because it revealed too many details about the target character; but well, I never advanced enough to be able to use it, anyway).
-
The spell with Humanoid still exists IG, but instead of revealing some secrets it produces Carroll-style FIXME meessage ;D
-
It rocks Boeven! Please keep it coming :D
-
Another very hilarious edition, Boeven. Keep these coming! ;D
-
Thanks to Daevaorn who helped to unlock my vision with a handy suggestion, now I know what kind of... treatment deserves Klyros mage robe. :sorcerer:
Stay tuned.
-
;D Looking forward to it.
-
Mwaha! Another great addition, Boeven! :D
-
Lovin that manly menki you put in there, really showin off our good side
-
Great Work, Keep them coming :D
-
Open suggestion - following a private joke regarding the abbreviated name "Boe" elsewhere ... Corporal LeBoe, it's worth the time taken! ;)
How about a kind of episode from "Hogan's Heroes" in Yliakum: Hogan (Ylian) convincing Klink (Lemur) and Burkhalter (Kran) while LeBeau (Dermorian) lures Schulz (dwarf) away with "Strudel?", and Kinchloe (Diaboli) installs some device in the background...
-
Gosh, I no longer see an episode of Hogan's Heroes since I was... don't know, maybe twelve years old? I'll do some research :)
-
Love the new comic strip!
-
BTW, I voiced this sentence in saxonian accent... ;D
-
Mwaha! An excellent satire of the klyros model robes.
Love it. ;D
-
If PS ever gets famous..these might start getting into the sunday papers...
-
If PS ever gets famous..these might start getting into the sunday papers...
bwahahahahaha! :|
-
Great work, love the new one!
-
I think the bottom row says Dork >.>
-
the whole poster reads "H OL IF A DORK"
what exactly is HOL?
-
*grins* Wow, I'm impressed. Congratulations you two! The last row is indeed "DORK". I was wondering if someone would ever guessed it, at 120 dpi...
As for the other rows, I'm afraid there are no secret messages, I used random letters in fact :P
This could be an interesting addition, though. Maybe I'll use other subliminal messages one of these days.
-
I didnt even think to look at what was on the eye test.
-
It was the first word composed by 4 letters I had in mind, at first it was a random line :P
-
::| Hmm. That is certainly not Doctor Lesiros Forita. As you already said.
But a great strip plot!
__
I just think of something similar: Hinosserri (shortsighted) needs glasses, but gives Hiacheius rubies instead of diamonds -- which gives him a laser glare like Cyclops of the X-Men.
-
Nice one. Pointing his gaze on Deelor's back...
-
__

Haha I love this idea :D
-
Thanks, your comments are really helpful in triggering my fantasy. All of your comments.
Edit:
Due to some problems with ImageShack links not reachable somewhere, the images will be hosted by the PlaneShift PictureServer, and right now I'm editing the existing links.
Thanks to the PS German community.
-
Another hilarious addition.
-
Regarding the robed Klyros ... the "bandana" was a great addition but the slippers really made my day! \\o//
-
well, it just seemed appropriate...
let's clean the new forum now! ;D
-
[...] while LeBeau (Dermorian) lures Schulz (dwarf) away with "Strudel?", and Kinchloe (Diaboli) installs some device in the background...
mmmh, Shulz should be played by a little rotund kra...
-
I'm not sure I got the last one.
-
I like it ... Spock as Dermorian, fascinating! ;D
-
I'm not sure I got the last one.
I'm afraid it came out more cryptic than I thought 'cause the script is weak, it misses at least a scene :innocent: but I had no time to draw it.
Let's do a test:
What's the name of the crystals the "dermorian" is looking for?
In order to make the test more thrilling I warn you, I'll add karma to whoever will respond... OK I'm joking.
-
New Comic Strip is great, i aplaud you :P
-
Something about bloody diamonds? I must be too sleepy, but I have no idea what the second scene is even supposed to hint to.
-
Dilithium?
The spaceship Enterprise uses dilithium crystals as energy source.
-
Right, LigH, dilithium is what I had in mind *Boeven cheers*
@Gilrond:
I choose to translate "bloody diamonds" with "diamonds covered/filled with blood"... *chuckles*
Then I guess you noticed the red stain near Bones? it seems blood indeed, poor me... What I had in mind was simply the similarity Dermorian/Vulcan, and the allusion to some special crystal. Firstly I thought to cite Lumium, then I gave up. As an afterthought, I just wanted that the doctor seemed busy while talking, so I placed a "something" to analyze. And that's my fault, I'm sorry, because I colored in red that thing . And after that mess, I missed the goal *grins*
This means I need more time to think the scenes, but that's something I know already...
I hope I correctly interpreted what has puzzled you. And thanks for your comment as well!
-
Star Trek has met Planeshift. It's official. ;D
-
Err... another point is this "green, red..." phrase. In Star Trek universe Orion slaves are beautiful females whose skin is green, known for their psychic capabilities to conquer males.
-
Heh, Nice one Boeven
-
Love the strip. \\o//
Just adding alittle trivia. Orion females exude a pheramohn to charm men. ;)
Keep 'em coming ,brilliant stuff.
-
ROFL someone has been watching star trek a litle too much ;)
-
Don't blame me, blame Sci-Fi channel marathons. }:{>
-
« I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.
All those… moments will be lost in time,
like tears… in rain.
Time to ;D »
-
Do androids dream of electric sheep.
Great book, great movie. \\o//
-
[Psst, Oni, this isn't the place to comment. There's a comments thread in this same forum ^^. Also, I wonder if Boeven accepts guest strips ;3 *wink wink hint hint* ]
If Boeven will publish original SVG components for the comic under CC (Creative Commons) with derivatives permission, then I guess someone can make a few guest ones in Inkscape :)
(I mean this kind of stuff: )
-
You could always give it ago yourself, like I have.
-
Sure you can if you have time to make them from scratch.
-
I'm thinking about releasing the SVGs indeed. I have to work on some details, though... More info later.
Also, I've always found useful suggestions and script hints here and in my PM. *winks*. Time it's the problem. Hence the idea of releasing the SVG.
@Onilise:
Thanks Oni :)
-
Hahaha Love the new one, great work.
-
Brillant! -- Especially the ring, in all its details.
-
It's a smurf! O--)
-
Cute :D
-
I'm examining the feasibility to release under CC the comic strip modules, and at the same time to permit the upload of new modules or sketches, under the same license, to whoever wants to help. I have a more or less ready wiki, but I need some free hosting. 100Mb free space at least, the more the better. I checked Heliohost, but it was unreachable most of the time...
Suggestions are most welcome, at this point.
-
Great strip, it's very funny! *waits eagerly for next one* :D
-
Thanks to an anonymous contributor *Boeven Winks at Onilise* we may try.
There's a wiki where I've published the SVG modules used in comic strips under a CC by-nc-sa License. If you want to contribute with characters, objects, scripts, anything, please take a look at:
http://doomedcomics.hitart.com
I haven't uploaded all the modules yet, there's enough for a good start. Tell me if you find some issues.
-
Great pic at the start \\o//
-
You may have to add a META tag with the encoding used, or translate the "striked o" into a HTML entity "ø".
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
-
Cant seem to find the arms in the kit packs, i mean Plate mail arms???
Also the Logo wont seem to copy over properly... ??
-
Fixed it all :D :P
-
You may have to add a META tag with the encoding used, or translate the "striked o" into a HTML entity "ø".
Thanks LigH. It seems that the redirector service doesn't give that meta info while in masking mode, and it's not customizable (but free). I have disabled this function, now the wiki should directly declare the right charset to be used, I hope it's fixed now.
-
Any chance you could upload some speach bubbles? as ive tried making them but i fail as i only have a mouse to work with.
-
for the bubbles I simply use an ellipse and two straight lines, when it's all positioned select the two objects, go to menu: path > union and that's all :) you don't need a pen tablet. Actually the keyboard is the ultimate tool.
-

Thanks I'll give it ago tomorrow night :D

Don't tell me it's Christmas time again!...

time to buy nice presents for me boeven :D

Some image hosters have "deep link protection".

Ahh yes thats better!

#18 reminds me on an old joke from Harald Nielsen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21KwNZFogHg#t=8m28s) (german): After 6 years of engagement with her, Bommerlunde dared to protest: "Say, sweetheart, aren't we finally going to marry?" — "With greatest pleasure", I replied, "but ... who would still be interested in us, after all this time?"
:o Is that a faceprint in that shield?!
-
happy 4900th post, LigH!
:o Is that a faceprint in that shield?!
Correct. I'm not really satisfied by the result, but I'm glad you noticed my attempt, it means it's not so bad after all. :)
-
Are there parallels between "The Human Fly" and "The Klyran Arangma"? ;D
-
Are there parallels between "The Human Fly" and "The Klyran Arangma"? ;D
Maybe this is just the poor klyros from episodes 4/5/10, still mostly wrapped in arrangma webbings ;)
-
Who knows?... :whistling:
-
So Geordi's visor wasn't good enough, eh? It had to be Bootsy Collins glasses?
-
I thought thoroughly if the char had to wear glasses or simply have a pair in one hand. I've decided at last for using a... less conventional pair. I don't exclude though that someday the visor will be useful...
Wait... are you telling me that someone actually used those... things?
PS:
ah, those were lysergic times, OK. The visor is safer ;)
-
(http://psps.psde.de/images/doomed17_1.png)
This one is my favorite. Times well with my coming back and having to renew my ring of familiar. I looked through your comic thread and I enjoyed my time there. Looking forward to what you come up with next.
-
Zorbels, I'm glad you enjoyed my strips, thanks.
Unfortunately some personal issues are keeping me away from the game at the moment, but I really like putting on screen some characters of this parallel world we simulate. Even if sometimes I point out something frustrating :) . It makes me feel definitely better.

-
bahahahah thats awsome XD
-
Looks like leather making just became a dangerous profession. XD
-
The fact is... There should be at least another klyros stamped on the wall, because my client crashes one time out of three when I run through that point. I wonder if leather business could be affected by this. I am for sure X-/
-
the sign should read "Auto-Run at Yer Own Risk"
-
Not just "autorun at your own risk" but "GPU intensive area ahead. Move at your own risk". In most cases my client hangs for a while when I approach Hydlaa from the East Hydlaa.
-
Indeed I tried most of possible conditions: with or without autorun, running, walking, crawling, on both my mounts, with or without armour. no matter what, PS crash. I believe my notebook right now can barely afford running the client, and when I play I kill every unnecessary software that clog my RAM. I'm not sure it will work with next major release. That's it.
-
It's probably related to the "new Hydlaa". It's more graphics intensive, while old East Hydlaa is still as before. Older hardware chokes inside Hydlaa, and when entering from the East Hydlaa especially for some reason.
-
Finally - the long awaited! ;D
From my experience, crashes in the East passage or in the Arena tunnel are more probable on PCs with quite used RAM. It was almost certain for one with only 2 GB. It hardly ever happens on one with 4 GB.
-
I say Auto-run because if you are just walking normally and release the walk button as soon as you hit the load screen, you don't go careening into the wall. You stop and load as you stand in the middle of the road like a decent person :P
-
Right, Aramara. The key is that everything we say has not necessarily a single meaning. ;D
-
ohhhh.... I get it... crash... ::)
-
One of your best, Boeven. Hilarious, as always.
-
Based on one of my PMs from about half a year ago... And it came out just as expected, especially the facial expressions are just matching.
-
I'm not sure it will work with next major release. That's it.
Well a new release can go 3 directions.
It can get less laggy, stay the same, or get more laggy.
Its a win-nuetral-lose situation.
best of luck though.
-
Spiderman! ;D
Funny as always, Boeven.
-
*Boeven purrs*
-
^_^ !!
/me purrs happily!
-
Seeing as the thread doesn't seem to want to paginate, would it be possible to thumbnail the older posts so we can all get to the new funnie that much quicker? :)
-
Spider-Klyr! Spider-Klyr!
Does whatever a Spider-Klyr does!
P.S.: Seems to be a "Golden Delicious"?
-
Bilbous, I've noticed that my images grow pretty much lately... ::) I was wondering if someone could have some trouble loading all that stuff. I'll try using preview images, tell me if it goes better.
It's a pity we can't delete our own posts, I'd use thumbnails in a better two-posts topic, the first with all thumbs and the last for the "latest episode". I think this could be more pleasant and efficient in terms of loading.
Oh, I tried using an animated gif in my signature, I bet this could be really a problem. Deleted now.
@LigH:
"I don't always eat apples, but when I do, definitely Golden Delicious".
-
Boeven is now officially the Most Interesting Klyros in the World.
-
BTW: There was a version of the Golden Delicious in times of the GDR: "Gelber Köstlicher" (simplfied translated). But it was probably often raised on bad grounds and sold rather unripe, which made it taste mealy, so it was scolded as "Grüner Grässlicher" (Green Hideous).
-
Very nice one Boeven. Keep them coming. \\o//
-
I loved your comic strip. Made me laugh and I had fun reading it, especially about the one where you run into the wall near the leatherwork station:) hee hee so true.
Here's another idea - running off the bridge in DR as you are talking / typing on screen with someone only to die again. That kills me, lol.
All the best!
Looking forward to more :)
-
Thanks, I appreciate your suggestion, in fact I'm thinking about something involving death loops. Some character is emerging from the deep pit where my brain is rotting right now.
-
\\o// Another fine present by our great artist! And such a wise one...
-
Your wise insights into the world of yliakum cause much hilarity.
-
Buahahaha. :D
These keep getting better and better, Boeven.
-
Thanks :flowers:
I'm trying to gather a whole bunch of enkis in a strip. I just need to figure out better an hilarious (for me at least ;)) excuse I have in mind. Hoping to return soon in yliakum
-
Bring out the enki!!! :D
-
I call dibs on being the sexy, suave one that does cool commercials with weird products.
-
Pah, get in line, mortal.

I'm really losing my mind... this year I completely forgot the
TOWEL DAY!

Hehe! Good one, Boeven!
-
Hehe! Good one, Boeven!
So, is there any animal, here in Yliakum, who behave like the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal? And, more importantly, which npc should I ask to, if I want to buy a towel?!
-
A towel might protect against Consumer stunning attacks... who knows. And for cloths, ask the Crystal Weavers. Or maybe Saria Dunwallow, I believe she is wedding outfitter?
-
Hehe! Good one, Boeven!
So, is there any animal, here in Yliakum, who behave like the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal? And, more importantly, which npc should I ask to, if I want to buy a towel?!
Whoever you are. I must meet you.
-
Thank you, Caraick. Improbability will help us!
... you'll (im)probably meet me somewhere facing Consumers with a towel draped over my head, as LigH suggested!
[and sorry Boeven for that sort of spam... but it's just because your hitchhiker was simply great \\o// !]
-
As the topic implies, every comment generated by my scribbles is certainly welcomed and amuses me greatly, no need to be sorry about. Furthermore, you never know from where the inspiration comes. Right now I can imagine at least 42 good reasons to use a towel facing consumers. Ok, not really 42... yet.
-
But first get your Enki Packs Summit done. ;)
And then, what could you make of the introduced herbalism? ... Little Shop of Horrors? Or similar to Spider-Klyr, a kind of Reginald Bushroot (from Darkwing Duck)? Or maybe some side-effects of certain herbal teas ...
-

::) I really, really hope I'll soon see some of these reasons sketched here \\o// !
... and, by the way, I think you're right: they should be 42 :D !!!
(obviously, if you need help finding reasons, just tell me: even if I'm still lookin' for a good towel to test, I'll try to help!)
-
Spider-Klyros? ;D Very nice, Boeven. I assume this was intended to coincide with the movie release?
-
To tell the truth, the spider-klyr was waiting in my hard disk for a year at least. You're right, time is ripe, but I simply wanted to post something and that's the only ready strip I had. ;)
-
The timing couldn't have been more perfect. :D And the strip was hilarious, too, as always.
-
Moar
-
... Little Shop of Horrors?
ummm, nice one. :)

::| I fear I'm missing its meaning... please someone explain. ???
-
No worries. Just a nonsensical drawing, I'm scratching the bottom of the barrel. So to speak.
If my issues keep going in same direction as of late, I doubt I will make other strips I have in mind for quite some time.
PS:
Pro tip. Never, ever, throw your smartphone into the campfire. Your inegraed keyboard could resul a littttle bi damaged.
-
Like losing the "T" key?
And your insurance won't cover that, probably.

Who ordered a pie? Derula?

What a pie-ceful picture. :)
-
Who ordered a pie? Derula?
I see a lot of free... pie there! :P
-
Those comics are amazing.
-
;D /rolling on floor laughing
-
The horned, red haired, axe swinging stereotype in #26 looks somewhat familiar :-X
Oh, good she's wearing leather :P
And yes, savethrows can really turn the tides :D
-
Maya prophecies are nothing.
Brace yourselves for Yliakum's ultimate menace.
No, the creatures waiting in darkness of Stone Labyrinths doesn't compare either.

In 2013, in selected theaters. (that is here, if you've not figured out)
-
Man, you are cheering up a very sick Fenki. I thank you.
-
Is that ... Cyclops-Hinoserri? ;D No more carrots for this guy!
-
\\o// The genius strikes again! I'll have to post this in the TWH forum immediately...
-
Hahahah! Excellent ;D \\o//
Rheos
Keeper of the Hammer
-
I'm glad you liked it. It just seemed appropriate for the festivities :whistling:
-
:) I lurk and read and rarely find much interesting on these forms BUT I always come to check if you've posted new comics because I love your humor and drawing. Thanks for taking the time with this, it's a small pleasure to look forward to when I lurk. Happy New Year BoevenF!
-
\\o// Strawberry fields forever!!!
-
Thanks Zorbels, it's one of my purposes in drawing these scribbles. Every strip clearly means "Hey, I'm still here, I'm alive, this is what I feel when I think of PS, and I don't forget even if I'm playing RL right now". Also "What the hell of a day, let's forget troubles by drawing with Inkscape 'til 3 am".
-
I do like the background patterns of the Cyclosenni episode.
For a moment I thought the thief dude could get cold feet :)
-
A classical one: "Shoot in the foot" ;D
-
I think backgrounds are indeed important for some strip, possibly helping to better figure out the context of the scene. Even counting as another character in stage. So I'm trying to draw more detailed backgrounds.
Basically I draw something, trying to match some image I have in mind, then I wait some days or a week, I reopen the file and... "what the hell is this? It sucks!!" *DEL* *DEL* *DEL*
That poor guy isn't particularly smart or lucky. By design.
It's a designated target, the red shirt, classical cannon Ulber fodder, I foresee more troubles in his future.
Let's see, what could happen to him?
Yeah, I'm talking to you ;) unleash your wicked soul.
-
[...] wait some days or a week, I reopen the file and... "what the hell is this? It sucks!!" *DEL* *DEL* *DEL*
Oh, that reminds me much of scientific writing  but I'm getting :offtopic:
-
Hinosserri the Unlucky? ... Hmmm. Let's say he found a matching type of glasses. And he sees ... doom and destruction! ALARM!!! A giant Arangma attacking the fortress!
`(*)-( )´
-
I suspect the lake mushrooms for that, not the glasses :P
But I was referring to the anonymous guy, the noobish type still trying to understand why he's there.
Boni, any topic could bring ideas. For example, doctor Lesionis could amass data for a treatise on, let's say... arangmas physiology? by slaying tons of beasts, trying to replicate the spider-klyr transformation. Or dosor breathing apparatus, or... drifter floating mechanics. Better, there could be a new character, sort of mad scientist... could Levrus be the man, by the way.
I see space finally for the bunch of enkis I have somewhere, waiting for catnip glory.
-
... Let's say he found a matching type of glasses. And he sees ... doom and destruction!
(wrong glasses then... he should wear a pair of Joo Janta Sunglasses, instead... :P )
-
Whoah! I completely forgot those glasses! Given the principle of the Infinite Improbability drive, surely there's space for president Beeblebrox... ummm... Marvinodissey in Yliakum?
-
Maybe the Unlucky Noob is just a Golgafrincham scion...
-
Given the principle of the Infinite Improbability drive, surely there's space for president Beeblebrox...
Yep! Sure Improbably there is space for president Beeblebrox :D !
... and, maybe you're right too, LigH :) !

#29 ... :-\ ... interpretable? Was there a reference (e.g. an accidently invisible GM)? ???

#29 ... :-\ ... interpretable? Was there a reference (e.g. an accidently invisible GM)? ???
I just take that as a continuation of #24 (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=39540.msg458998#msg458998)... see also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invisible_Woman
Btw, nice to see again our famous intelligence trainer (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=39540.msg449485#msg449485) :woot:
-
Right you are, Boni. I didn't bothered to add a reference, I was wrong ;)
I've added a reference on the fly now :sweatdrop:
-
Well, yes, I remember that there is an invisible member; but she is not always invisible. So I wondered why she was accidently invisible, even without knowing herself, possibly. I thought there was a prank about an occasion when some GM was accidently invisible but tried to run an event...
-
oh you mean the "I hear voices in mid air, I have to stop with night mushrooms" event? ;D
no seriously, I didn't knew about that, what a pity!
-
maybe it's time to draw something else...

Spiderklyr would have ... wait, do webs burn? ... Well, enjoy!

...and this is for Car!

-
Welcome back! :P
And yes, you seem to have understood. Lesiros and Lesionis have quite similar problems.
-
"A resection of both legs" lol. This is awesome.
Once again, the healer saves the day. One could always react to the healer with a critical failure that only gets worse with each attempt to heal. <3

[was this Evirea!? heheheh she will resect my man- dible for that one...]
Once again, the healer saves the day. One could always react to the healer with a critical failure that only gets worse with each attempt to heal. <3
Like RR's attempt to heal Allena with CW and every freaking magick around, only to have her fall mindless into the netherworld? Maybe RR should attempt a brain replacement... is Rig using his?...
RR ::|

I think I'm done giving up body parts for now. There's a lot of takers, but few givers. And yes, I think that was Evi with the white coat xD. I've been scratching my head and wondering if the other characters are meant to be anyone else in ps.
-
One of my first choices was avoid names popping out from balloons. Except the brother healer for which I was inspired freely by my rare encounters with Dr. Forita, and an improbable Cyclops-Hinoserri, I don't refer to anyone in particular, just characters I enjoyed to meet and whose behaviour I've bent to my own purposes. There are many, in fact, that I simply don't know because of, alas, my scarce presence in game.
If someone sees one of his chars in one of my scribbles, I'm glad :D
I'm always trying to draw and make fun of some NPC characters, eventually only the Ochtarcs will not be pleased...
On second thought, looking at the strips, I've been inspired a bit too much by Dr. Forita. ;D
There will be an Enki galore. Just give me enough time, measured in George R.R. Martin's time units...
-
I don't mind any reference. I know they are respectful.
-
...I just now took a look at that comic with the doctor and read the relating comments <.<
*Evirea grabs her saw and tracks down Rigwyn and Roled.
-
Wait...so now Boeven's back posting more comics? \\o// ::| AWESOME!!! :flowers: :woot:
-
Your comics are awesome. You are professional doing this, right? If not, you really should consider it o.o I would certainly buy such comics :D if you think to do more in this direction :D
-
Oh dear, now I'm flattered.
But unfortunately I'm in the computer care business, at the moment.
It also means that sometimes I find exciting and undiscovered ways to waste my time, so who knows?...
-
Boeven! I miss ya buddy. I feel like KJ needs a little reunion party.
Also, I'll try to be on the IRC more often - look forward to catching up with ya soon!
-
Kga Ksiblim! Same here, brother.
Boeven at the moment is somewhat lost in his search for klyros roots (no, not new plants :) ).
He found some old parchment describing a hidden route leading to Krafgart, so he's busy at the second level.
