Updater 1.1.1.1 newer than server?
« on: April 29, 2006, 03:24:15 am »
Since I didn't see any report in the bug tracker about this, I wonder if that happened to anyone else.

I did an update using 1.1.0.0, and since the new client crashed I had a look at this, and promptly updated the updater ;)

However, I got this:

I suppose that a fresh installation will do the trick, it's been a while anyway.

Heya Cad :) Take a look at this thread - it seems to be the same issue.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Hi Karyuu, and thanks! :)

It works fine now, seems like I've not looked at the right places, bad Cad.

Yeah, I think a bad version.dat got up on one or more of the update servers a while back and the updaters got confused.  If it ever says "no new updates available" like that, it thinks it has the latest updates and just goes on with a repair check.  (it's usually right; the "updater too new" error means it got confused)  Deleting version.dat resets what it knows, and forces it to get again.
