Hey everyone. With the permission of the Team Leader of PlaneShift I can make my own game and I am. I will have a cuple of questions along the way so keep this tread open. This tread is for people who might have the same questions as well. Here are the current questions I have:

1.) I don\'t think you may use the PS resources since those fall under the PS license if I\'m right.

2.) I cannot realy give you an answer to question 2.

3.) There are alot of modellers in PS. I\'m not to sure if they all use the same modeller. After all there are alot of modellers availible, and if PS only supports one model type like .3ds there are alot of convertors to convert the models (most modellers also have a build-in exporter).
I assume they either use 3DS Max, Blender, Milkshape or Wing3D.

4.) I\'m not too sure if they are willing to give this code to you. Maybe you should just use in-game account creation first, and when you have your game running you can look at things like this, since you probably need to learn PHP/SQL for it or get some PHP/SQL scripter that wants to  code it for you.


I wont go in discussion on whether you should create your  game or not, this will just cause unnessacary flames. However when I look at your questions I would say you don\'t know anything about programming, modelling, MMORPGs etc. Don\'t forget PS is not some kind of gamemaker: if you want to create your own game you will need to know how to program, and a few weeks experience won\'t realy help you with it. Ofcourse I don\'t know if you are a good programmer or not, but you should know that of yourself. If not you should get some books about C++ and try to create your game when you have a little more experience.

I\'m still concerned about cheating. I know you cannot make a modified client with a button \"kill all players in game\" and a button \"Get 10.000 tria\" but you can create modified clients that will automate jobs for you. Like automatic mining and when someones gets close say hello and when he goes away say bye etc.

This can ofcourse be done using macro programs aswell but using a modified client will only make it easier. Also it will make it harder to catch those cheaters.

Get 99% exp, logout, kill 1 rat, get one progression point and your exp will go to 0%.

Than wait until the server is linkdead, exp will go back to 99%, progression point still there.

Repeat this until you have alot of prog points.
Server isnt linkdead very often (yesterday almost every 2 minutes for me), but there might also be other ways like just crashing your game with one of the bugs, I dunno.

You can also lose PP by spending them on skills. Server linkdead > no skills gained but PP and money gone.
This happened to my alot of times.


But it doesnt matter since the database will be set back to the migration point after some time

I upgraded my skills, but have the idea my skills lowered :S
Spended 8 progression points and alot of money to get lower skills, nice :/

I am missing everytime now, and when I dont miss I do like 0.2 damage (previously 5-6 ).



It seems alot of people screwed up and others got big benefits. So I would suggest to take the server down immidiately and use an old database file form yesterday or something so everything will go back 24 hours in time.

Need to return to Sharven to tell him the prices of the script has been doubled becuase there more parties who wants it, a Talad priest is also interested.

So yeah, I spened like 1 hour on guessing what I need to say while the only thing I did for the quest was walkiing to Jayoses library, say something and go back. costed like 3 minutes (20 seconds ewalking and 1.40 seconds gueesing what I needed to say there).

yeah I\'d like to know that too, I mined some gold ore but didnt got any exp or skills :/

Well first, there are some Trias and Hexas laying on the ground in the underground riots (if I say it right).
You just cant pick those Trias and Hexas up (I saw like 3 of them).

I already spoken to Androgos and he said it was a bug. But I didnt know if he forgot it, so just posted it here to make sure
btw is it a bug that you cant pick them up or that they are there?

Secondly, there is no way to do any quest! Well atleast not for me. I tried like 3 hours to get one but it doesnt work. I said everything, heres a small conversation from the log:

I tried it by MANY NPC;s, just all Icould find. Also said many things like \"Do you have a job\", \"Do you have work for me\", \"Do you have a quest for me\" etc. etc. etc.

Since I dont have any Trias (had some crystals on my old account a long time ago but havent signed in a long time so account is probably deleted or something since the migration didnt worked for me), I see no way to get money, and no money is no weapon and no weapon is no combat so while everybody is fighting I cant do anything

I also heared more people were the quests didn\'t worked (heared nobody were it DID work). I might get some Trias from a guildmember, but I think it sucks for alot of people



Dont know if you are aware of these problems, but just wanted to tell it to make sure.

first I got the error after being ingame for 1-2 seconds. I re-installed the game and now I had no problems for a long time but got it again after some time.

Last time I got it when I quited CB.
