Title: Proverbs of Yliakum
Post by: Xillix Queen of Fools on February 08, 2007, 12:40:52 pm
[since i know everyone is probably itching for some ps . . .]

Xillix posts a sign outside kada el's

"Dear Yliakum, I am collecting proverbs from the good and bad people of our fair lands if you can read, write your proverb here. If this note is being read to you dictate your proverb and have it written here. I hope to see some of the wisdom that is thrown to the winds collected.

I will start:

-As falka holds a fire longer than a glyph, so to does a fool hold wisdom longer than a sage.-

-never pee uphill, you'll get your boots wet-

Yours--

XilliX QOF"

[These proverbs should all be Yliakumized worldly wisdom or completely IC quips or puns]

*Annera writes some proverbs below the previous ones in the sign

Some words, many ways to interpretate them, by Annera Klorn

"Old enemies are like ulbernauts: their diplomatic seal is your dead corpse"

"Better to have a terrible truth coming to you like the darkness of the Stone Labyrinths than to live in deceptions"

"If you decide to become free to believe in nothing, everything else is granted"

"Discover the truth and it shall bring you liberty"

"If you stand still thinking, you will philosophically conclude your purse just was stolen"

I hope my contribution is worthy enough

"you should treat your fellow citizens generously, or destroy them, for small injuries they will seek revenge, for fatal ones they cannot"

"Bring umbrellas on sunny days also, as pterosaurs answer natures call independent of the weather"

"to defeat a mage, steal his glyphs"

*Narure puts his dagger away and gives the well dressed enki a kick in the backside as he scuttles off*

"A piece of meat cutted in the shape of a tria saciates your hunger better than the apple you pay one tria for."

"There are always two masters who you voluntarily may chose to enslave yourself to: nobody or your trias."

"Some battles you choose, others are chosen for you."

“A man who bluffs with his life is a fool who sleeps with vipers,”

"A man who faces demons can rarely face himself."

OUT OF CHARACTERS ('Cus I had to go there.)

"Beware of fall damage. Beware of wild creatures. Beware of large groups of unfriendly players. Well, you know.. just avoid Crystal Blue altogether."

"My theory is this: Clipping errors have been largely taken care of thanks to the addition of a soul. My evidence being the death realm taking care of #1 place you don't want to be, replacing 'Kada El Tavern'"

"Everything sounds much wiser in an Administrator's shout command."

"Everything sounds a great deal less intelligent when given in a regular shout command."

"The command /me makes me warm inside because I envision it as a little stick person leaning 'on me'."

"Give a man fire, keep him warm for the night.  Light a man on fire, keep him warm for the rest of his life."

Ehem. Props please? (that quote came from me. ;) )

Take, found, given, stolen... all the same word. It is only your morals that change. (edited to take out the bad lisp)

Er, now it is time for Words of Wisdom from Hyuken!

If kran marry a kran, who is husband and who wife?

Chairs so hard to sit on with nowhere to put your tail.

Careful going down steps. Sometimes you go down too fast and die.

I do good like my Paw always say. A good deed is better than money in the pocket.

Paw always said a good floor is better than ten chairs.

(on glory lost) It never lost, as long as someone remember...my Paw used to say.

Never eat black food, my Mum always say to me.

And a little story on the wisdom of stealth (as told to Einnol and Netrhys ingame):

Hyuken: Steathly not work on enkis. We can hear in the dark. That is how I wake up in the middle of the night up in the hayloft. Someone down below making stealthy noise. I think "Oh no! I in big trouble if that the farmer." But I look down to see two man with lantern. They got a bag between them that full of coins.  I think that it muss not be the farmer, cause farmers only gots bags of dirt. Everyone knows that. So, I get worried. They muss have been royalty to have all that money. Royals act funny, and do things like that in the dark in farmer barn, I think. So, I try to sneak out the loft door...but I forget it not have ground nearby. But....well, the ground find me anyways. It hard to be so steathly when the ground is not, and it jumps up at you. I make a big thump, but not hurt. I jump up as one man say he hear something.I know royals don't like folks listening to them in the dark, so I run. But I looking behind me, and run right into a pile of empty wine barrels. The wine barrels not know how to be stealthy -at all-. The Royals run out, all hollering and shouting, but I see better in the dark now that I look where I go, and I get away. I run into town and hide. Later I hear that some bandits was caught out in a farm with a bag of coins, and that the farmer heard lots of noise. The royals I saw must have been robbed right after I run away, and the farmer hear them.

Einnol says: I think those royals of yours might have been those bandits that you heard about. You might have helped them be discovered and captured through your mishap trying to escape.

Hyuken says: That is silly, sir Einnol. Everyone knows bandits live in caves, not farmer's barns.
