Wish list / Naming own containers

Just a thought...
It would be nice If we can change/put a name in a container (bags, wooden crate, boxes)

I have several bags that I use to organize my items.
So I have a bag for quests items, another bag for swords and potions, and so on.

It would be nice to name a bag and see it when I move the mouse over.
It's easy to identify each container without having to open all.

Hi
I noticed that Shield Handling is not working.
I have the green bar... but when fighting and holding a shield there are no practice points.

I've trained SH before 0.5

Should I open a bug report?

And how can I re-train Shield Handling if I've got a green bar?

Linux Specific Issues / Client crashes just after level loading

Hi, I have several troubles.
I was able to play (as Enkidukai I started at Akkaio and I have done 9 quests) but when I tryied to go to Hydlaa the textures of Ojaroad were missing: no floor (I don't fall) and moving the character or mouse pointer makes all blurry, so I came back to Akkaio.

Then, I've deleted shadercache and run with --repair parameter... The client crashed.

Repeated the steps for all options in Background Loading (off, model, world), but the client keep crashing just after the level is load... (I can see for almost 2 seconds Brado's Tavern and kaput!)

I have 3d Acceleration enabled on a Intel G33 (I repeat, I was able to play -- 9 quests done and several rogues killed at Akkaio).

Fan Art / 360º pictures

Hi, last night I was playing with Fedora 6 and Beryl and used the skydome feature...  :woot:
Searched for some pictures and ... Wow!

Skydome animations was smooth and I liked very much.
I found a plugin for GIMP: panorama, that should be enough to process the images.

General Discussion / RPing: what is good and what is bad?

Being an Explorer I travel constantly from Oja to the Bronze Doors region, and consequently I cross my path with others characters.
Sometimes they ask me some directions, and I would like to roleplay that like this:

Char1 say: Good day!
Eagel say: Good day traveler, what can I do for you?
Char1 say: Tell me, Where can I find the Ruined City?
Eagel looks into his pocket seraching for something...
Eagel's hand holds an strange device
Eagel looks at his device and says: Hmm... lets see... It should be... that way
Eagel points the large stalagmite behind the hills

Char1 say: Oh, thank you... may Talad be with you.
Eagel say: And you. Take care.
Char1 say: bye.

Now... I know there's no devices nor compass, and maps are experimentals right now...

It's good to roleplay something like that? Would I be wrong about the settings?

Wish list / making a fire

Hi, I've done a quick search inside the wish list, so...
I was reading Ice_Stovo wish about stamina... but then was named to get packed somewhere when you are tired.

This wish 'Making a fire' should include some new items and a new skill.
Item.
wood
flint and silex stones to start a fire

Skill
making fire

To make fire you have to have a good Intelligence level.
You have to train 'Making Fire' with a trainer that can teach you the basics
The more you train, faster you get the fire and less wood you need.

Stones should be obtained by a quest (or a series of quests, like the access to the winch)
Wood should be grabed from the trees or ground around (like apples) [I see apples fall from trees, so it could use the same mechanism]
Fire could have a time value to disappear - like some spells. But this time should be a little longer  :sweatdrop:

I don't know much about mechanisms in game, but could be like this: get wood, get the book of fire in your mind and one stone in each hand, and you can start trying to make fire. As I said, more training, less time and wood spent.

Beasts could be attracted to the fire (like the nearness of a players do) and incite them to target a player and attack.

Well.... now the why.
Because ITs fun making fire outdoors, and camping... A fire makes you 'stay' in a place.
Now the guilds could have meetings and reunions in the wilderness, embraced by the heat of a good fire.
You can see when a player is camping outdoor because the fire... or see the lights and start investigating.
I think would improve the roleplay... I personally love the fire at Kada's but it's a little lonely when nobody is around. :'(
I can't think another good reason than RP.

Linux Specific Issues / relighting issue

Hi there... I'm back for a short time.
I upgraded my system from FC5 to FC6 and I have to install many programs again (PS is one of them)
I rename the libasound.so file becuase If not my sound systems won't work.
I played a short time and I reach BD region... but again the black floor appears.
I quit and tryied to relight but the game quits and I get this output from console. Any suggestions?

I've a new job as a technician. (let me say that I was unemployed near a month)
I will join an enterprise that provides support on Sun Hardware and Solaris to their customers.
So I will give support on hard/soft issues in Solaris/Linux/Win.
wohooo  \\o// better job, more money!!!

in the other hand, I will spend less time in Yliakum  :( :'( but I will try to play when I get some free time... I have some nice friends here and its hurts to go

Eagel takes some apples, 6 salted fishes and a pitcher of water.
He checks his falchion in the scabbard, and grabs his long stick... it will be a long journey.

Since his family has dissapear among the Stone Labyrinths, Eagel hasn't stopped to searching them.
He explored many times the sorrounding fields of the waterfalls searching a scent, a sign. But no luck.

"Eso jhysa'olo, Brado. Fado enine" says Eagel. (Thank you, Brado, I have to go)
"Ajha Eagel. En'ta dhury" says Brado (Ok Eagel, go with care), without looking, because his heart hurts when an Enkidukai has to go in a journey and that maybe never come back.

Eagel drinks the last drops of his cider and walks out the Broken Door Tavern.
He takes a look around Akkaio, and sees the movement at Trasok, that good old dwarf that has sharpened Eagel's falchion for free. Toda gifted to Eagel some falka oil for the lamp and an ulbernaut fur for cold days.
Everybody has collaborated with him to make his journey easier and makes feel a little more near from home.

Eagel starts to walk and loses among the fog outside the Akkaio Dsar hopping to return some day.

I saw that when I get near a rock or stalactite, it becomes transparent.
And usually, when I spin the trees or even houses, they left a trail... like a movement blur

Newbie Help (Start Here) / Yliakum extensions

How wide is Yliakum right now?
Because I spend less time in game now I'm working and I want to know if there's a place I miss to explore...

I saw Akkaio (I know that the rest of the Ojaveda's Dsars are locked)
I explored both maps of Oja-road
I know Hydlaa (not all, but most of it)
I saw the Magic Shop and the road to the waterfalls (I saw the head and the ruins. Thanks Semutara!  :thumbup: )
There's last road I don't explored too much... the one that leads to waterfalls... Because I was there twice...

So what I'm missing?

I don't want details or directions, just places to visit... I'll find it if there's more.

Oh, hell... I'm so happy with this junk that I've decided to post it...

It's made "at home" without recording studios or anything, just me, my guitar, and my keyb.
I know it can be improved, such that noises.. but I will do, trust me.

Hi there...I was making some questions to NPC's in Ojaveda and get some interesting answers. So I decided to write down part of it, and make a little story that I want to continue.

* Eagel steps up the stairs. Two, four, six steps above. He stares at the people running here and there. Doing their jobs. He has a quiet expression in his face and a shine in his eyes makes him speaks this way:

I'm Eagel, son of Tadori and Thiarkra. I'm a direct descendant of the ancients enkidukai that came to Yliakum many years ago.
I have something to tell you, citizens of Hydlaa. Strange things were happened in Ojaveda. Most of the city is closed and I want to inform you that situation. Many of my people are vanished and no one knows why.

* Some curious citizens stops to hear that Menki.
The movements in the Plaza stops. Harnquist leaves a sword and walks near, at the top of the stair.
Eagel continues with a proud and loud voice:


Ojaveda: home of the White Stone, and king of Markets. House of the Enkidukai.

* Eagel makes a stop, sighs slightly and continue *

Ojaveda is divided into Dsars. Each Dsar have their own shops for buying or selling goods. There are six Dsars: Akkaio, Sarraghi, Rabani, Kore, Blikau and Mills. There're farms set up outdoors that provides plenty food to Oja.

Akkaio is the central Dsar, with the Tavern of Broken Door that many know, Trasok's Smithy, a tanner and many other shops, becomes into the current trade hub for Ojaveda. Also is the warehouse district where are the docks.

Dsar Sarraghi is known by The White Towers. But has been closed down and locked up.

Dsar Rabani is where the elite of Ojaveda, the rich and old Enkidukais, play their political games. The wealthiest of Rabani have homes there, including Vigesim Torkesyn Rabani. But no one has seen him for a while, and people are beginning to talk. That Dsar is closed off under his orders.

The Dsar Kore is the military one. Oddly, the constant clanging and shouting of military training has lessened to almost nothing recently. Dsar Kore is clossed off too.

The Dsar Blikau is closed for business, as is most of the city. No traffic in or out, not even ore from the mines. The city's water supply is still flowing, but no dwarven water engineers have been seen outside that Dsar. I hope nothing happened to that beautiful fountain!

Dsar Mills portion of Ojaveda are where raw materials from the outlying farms get processed and stored. That Dsar is the most avoided, because criminals tend to frequent the darkened alleys. That Dsar has been closed off, anyway.

The sorrow is getting tie in my heart. Something is wrong, I know. Maybe a sickness got into the water supply that runs under the Dsar Blikau, or someone brought back something bad from the mines. Maybe that's why we have rats now. Never saw that creatures before.
The government is keeping silence and people started to talk about a quarantine.

That's the situation in Ojaveda. Beware travellers, be careful with the unknown.

*Eagel steps down from the stairs and walks to the next tree and sits under its shadow.
The people resume their business like nothing happened. The sound of Harnquist's shop, near the Plaza regain strenght, and the loud voices of the merchants starts to offer their products.
Eagel closes his eyes and thinks "What is going on in Ojaveda? Where are my people?"
Eagel remembers his parents and suddenly says: "It's better that way, they are lost in the Stone Labyrinths but they are far away from this madness"

Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / at waterfalls...

It's my first time at the waterfalls, and floor is all black...
is this a bug or already the floor is black?
I've tryed to quit and back again to reload the textures, but doesn't work.
How can I figure out if is my client wrong?
