A box on the shelf in the library.

The simple brown box is small with a top barely longer than a man’s hand and no more wide. It opens to reveal a stack of small papers that are all tattered at the left side.  Ink from one small page to the next small page becomes darker.

An army was crushed before the temple.
We must use this position again.  Unlike
the false god, there was little glamour in
this.

Blood was shed near the face.  I slew he
who killed my friend. He denied me the
chance to do it myself.

At least one of Orgcand’s knights still
lives for now.  He knew nothing of her
treasure.

Monk has given me the gems, deeming

days of old, but what is?

I have forced them to find themselves
again.

Events have made it obvious that I was
betrayed.  He continues to show that side
of himself which I so sternly gave
warning of.

The threat persists.

People fail to recognize me, even after
hearing my name.  Have I been hiding so
long?

I saw her again.  Is she following me?
And to what end?  What secret does she
have left to protect?

There are many blank pages, but nothing more is written.
