Poetry - Beneath Grains of Sand

Beneath Grains of Sand

Indifference,
Frozen and uncaring,
Waxes and wanes
Upon the self which
Is me.

Silence,
Resolute and foreboding,
Splinters and carries
My heart across waves to
Open sea.

What have I done to deserve this?
Nothing more than the meekest of confessions.

Acquiescence,
Tyrannical and unmoving,
Forces and restrains
New-found fondness
By forming.

Solitude,
Heavy and hushing,
Meets and sustains
A righteous spirit
From storming.

What did I crave to understand this?
Only the smallest wish to hear mirrored affections.

Delusion,
Harsh and self-imposing,
Breaks and scatters
To reveal a possible reality
Without you.

Dejection,
Thick and unending,
Mazes and traps
A soul by revealing what
Is true.

What can I do to remedy this?
Merely wait for impossible circumstances.

Hidden,
Upon that beach
My heart lies buried
Beneath few precious grains
Of sand...

Youa re very good at this. Have you taken poetry classes or are you just a poetic genius?
You are here,
You will always be here,
You will never be there.
Although you may strive to get there,
upon reaching there you will realize you are really here.
And there is everywhere else.

*turns fifteen shades of crimson*

Err... *stammers*  Well, the only \"creative writing\" class I have ever taken was one in high school - and that centered around all sorts of writing, not just poetry.  On top of that just regular English courses, nothing fancy.

My mother used to write poetry, as did my grandfather - maybe it is hereditary?  Mom stated ever since I was a child I showed a nack for writing pretty much anything, be it essay, story, or verse.

I give my true talent though to the message board role playing I\'ve done over the past four years.  \"Practice makes perfect.\" my piano teacher always told me, and it is true.  ;)

you should have the little expositions at the beginning of your poems like you did in City of Azure and Rogue\'s Hymn. That was nice, kinda classy.

Oooh, I\'ll take that into consideration!  I liked them too, I just didn\'t want to be trite.   :))

Um, what does trite mean?
You are here,
You will always be here,
You will never be there.
Although you may strive to get there,
upon reaching there you will realize you are really here.
And there is everywhere else.

Seriously, there are sites on the web you can search that have answers to such questions.  You just have to look.   :P
