RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, LOTS AND LOTS OF RAIN!!
MAKE IT BE RAINY DAYS!!
-
Kay...
-
 No.
At least not as long as "rain" makes clients crash like flies hit by water drops.
BTW, when it rains, you only see mist, somehow the rendering of the raindrops got bugged.
-
or build an svn client and rain greatness comes http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/3969/shot638.png
-
Looks like your standing in some icing sugar
-
Or recruit missing developers to release an update. How many months are we already collecting fixes?

There seems to be "bloom" activated.

thats the spirit!!! RAIN! verry good in a game dont u think?
-
Oh Another Great Idea!!!,
In The Thing That Has The Time, It'll Be Cool If You Also Added A Small Slide On That One Saying, ''Raining'' ''sunny'' ''windy'' ''day'' ''night'' ect..
-
shouldn't you be able to see whether it's day/night/raining/...?
I mean... it's darker at night, brighter during the day, ...
-
It wouldn't be sunny… but… "crystally" or something… *smirks*
-
Always wondered how localised weather is, when it rains, does it rain everywhere or just part of it? The world is large but still contained.
-
Or what about the black rain hehe, I found this somewhere on my brother laptop rather interesting you think?
Yes, I miss it when rain use to not make people crash. It was very enjoyable to play in, sometimes it got a little annoying. I remembered when it rained for like a week, or maybe I just didn't come online enough :-\
-
@ miadon:
I believe it is related to a whole "sector" at least (e.g. may rain in Akkaio-East but not in Akkaio-Central). But those who can make rain may know it better than me.
Many maps are one huge sector only, though (e.g. roads, Hydlaa up to the East Passage).

KLF: Make It Rain (The White Room) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDJ6iDgwn7o) - unfortunately only a remix; album version not available (for germans?)

that's from the bugged client version before the final fix - yay to transparency issues \o/

That's not what I was meaning, I know technically rain only appears on the map(s) it's assigned to, but I was meaning in terms of the settings. Going by Ojaveda which is quite dry I imagine the roof of the stalactite must be quite thick/hard/rocky explaining the lack of rain and dry land.
-
Yes ... there must be areas under the Crystal where it is more likely for clouds to appear. Probably caused by thermal winds raising from the lower levels faster in one part, slower in another due to more or less fertile ground, more or less wide stretches of water below. Just my idea.
-
LigH I was going to yell "SPOILER!!!!" just for fun but you ruined it with that last sentence. :P
I do think that if the bug eventually gets fixed that the GM's should start making it rain and snow again. I found it to be a great chance to let the setting effect RP and I think that people who are still RPing these days should be forced to adapt to the settings. That's a fun way to RP, when rain ruins the picnic. :D
-
I believe the bug has been fixed.
Now all we need is a reliable MacOS developer who stays available to build release packages ... if I remember correctly.
-
As long as it doesn't rain chocolate hand grenades I think we will all be fine...

It's a fantasy game. Can we have very localised rain? As in only on a small piece of a map?
(It's a technical question, not a request.)

Not sure about that LigH. While running under Linux and entering Oja Road 2's map when raining...

This has happened a couple of times at the same location in the same weather conditions.

Yes, indeed. I just received an email about an update -- it seems to be related to the mirroring in water surfaces.
Bugtracker task PS#4657, comment #21487 (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/flyspray/index.php?do=details&task_id=4657#comment21487)
Crashing is always happening in areas with water, that is bdroad1, bdroad2 and ojaroad2. Removing water_plane.xml helped. The water is now black but no crashes anymore. Maybe the problem is the mirroring effect of the water. By the way, the mirroring effect is still buggy and displaying characters and objects in water (rocks) improperly. Tested on zeroping server with latest update of the official client.

with a release client or a self-built recent trunk one?
also even if it does occur on trunk (only seems to occur on "not so good" hardware/drivers), there'll be the option to disable weather alltogether (which is probably not wanted due to perforance issues on that hardware) and therefore work around the issue
-

On release client and about lower mid-range requirement hardware. You have perked a good suggestion though; to try a self-built version. ;)

It already rains. It sometimes snows as well. Well it snows only at christmas

As much as I hate to admit it, but rain seems to be starting to look better than in Ocarina of Time. Not much better, but a bit.
This decreases chances we will ever see a Nintendo64 version of PlaneShift. Sad.
-
planeshift on n64 hehe

there is already rain and there is also snow

works well here

Stop being sarcastic, weltall -- that doesn't help the majority of the players who is unable to build their own client.
What keeps it from being released - only a MacOS developer who is able to create release packages?
-
I hate rain.
