I wouldn't say it's the licensing holding back contribution in art, though it is a factor. It's really the sheer commitment.

Welcome back. Roleplay isn't dead, it's weak in some places, has a few flaws at the moment, but a good story is always welcomed :)

Join a guild that isn't filled with furnace power levellers tbh. I can't think of anyone in Kore Irka Clan that power levels at a furnace, some of us train heavily on our fighting statistics, but we're always willing to throw down the weapons for a drink at the tavern or any other casual roleplay.

I don't think it's the furnaces that need demolishing, it's the mindset of your guild tbh.

Odd, I didn't delete my comment. Must have been moderated. I do honestly think it is sad that these can never be officialised.

I have to say, that last post was inspiring. Nice positive criticism, and I can't say I disagree with it.

[Considering Akaiddo is very clear to all he meets that his duties are only in Ojaveda (I refused to RP a guard role in Hydlaa the other day, when someone was attacked, Akaiddo merely said it wasn't his place to do anything about it in this city) I don't see any way in which such a view is justified. Good luck on convincing any other characters.]

Me? Young? I'm almost old enough to be a GM... XD

That's kinda my point Kaerli, PS attracts Rpers who don't know much about gaming until AFTER they spend some time in PS.

@Roled: I can't godmod you since we are not roleplaying, this is a forum and you confuse the terms, much like you confuse IC and OOC in-game and here often. 'Sides I don't see when I put my words in your mouth, wasn't even addressing you. I don't know, maybe you see things in my post that I can't see.

But I was wrong, you'd make a great GM for PS.

Godmodding in forum debates: Representing someone's opinion without their consent, deciding their value for them, etc.

Not everyone thinks "I need to build a system to suit a small OpenSource Game I haven't discovered yet" when they're building a system though. Hence, new players are being slowed down by the hardware reqs, players who already play PS kinda know these things already.

1) 24 hours is too long, oh shit I fell while getting to an RP in Laanx Dungeon.

2) Agree with 'Pepito' on the emote thing, it's annoying when someone spams the 'z' key.

General Discussion / Re: Intelligent combat: Weapons and armors!
« on: July 03, 2010, 01:39:19 am »
Yo, as far as history goes, after invention of plate mail swords became literally useless, but for maces it was a different case entirely. These were considered the supreme weaponry on the battlefield and against plate armour, they performed quite well, actually. If I'm not mistaken, maces became a standard soldier inventory after the invention of plate mail.

And as to chain mail not protecting against blunt attacks, I think it was pretty standard to wear leather or some such underneath mail armour. I could be wrong on this one though.

Leather padding was generally worn under chainmail, and platemail too.

Yeah, I think it would be cool. Only problem is the crap non-RP guilds could use it to make silly items like SWORD OF THE DRAGON or some crap.

But yeah, it would be cool if such items could be crafted, like Lolitra's crown, Jacula's toothed blade, Akaiddo's Kore Irka seal ring, etc. etc.
