Version o2o on Intel Mac

I was really looking forward to this update and happy to see that it was working for 5 minutes then it froze my system again.  :o

It's really disappointing, since on my iMac I don't have any lag which I usually experience on my PC. Also the graphic seems to be much better too.

Any suggestions please?

Not sure if that is wise, as it deals more with the game graphics  and torrent problem etc.
I think that issue needs to have an extra thread so other imac users with the same problem can find it easier.

The torrent actually has nothing to do with it, if something went wrong with the download chances are very high that the package would be corrupted. To make sure the downloaded file is not broken you should compare the md5 sum of the file with the one Trymm has posted (no idea how to do that on Mac OSX).

Trymm said that his build is for ppc and intel mac's, I think you really should get in contact with him about your problem (in the thread he started :))

If you are able to install the program, then there is most likely nothing wrong with your download.

Could you please post your systems specifications  please? The type of graphics card is particularly of interest. My initial response is that if you have an ATI X1600 graphics card, then this could be what is causing you problems. If so, there is no known solution for it ... yet. It was a problem throughout the whole .019 client, and has  not been fully resolved yet. However, we are working on it. Thanks for mentioning that client works outside cities, but not inside. This could have something to do with the different materials/shaders used for urban and non-urban environments.

Thank  you Trymm for your response and all the hard work you put into this to get the client running on the Mac.

Spacifications are as follows:

iMac 2,16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
My Graphic card is indeed Radeon X1600 (actually it is ATY Radeon X1600)

I hope the problem can be resolved as soon as possible.

Same specifications and same problems here. The graphics are fine, there's no lag, but the game irremediably crashes the whole system after a few minutes, as in 3.019.

Hope someone will find what's wrong asap. I eagerly want to play again :D

After some testing with the specific graphic card changes may have to be done on the source code! So for the time being, it looks like, we are out of luck in playing PS on our iMac's.

Please be patient. I know Dev's are doing all they can to fix that problem ASAP.

I just downloaded 020 and tried it.  When just double clicking on psclient, I get "The application psclient_static quit unexpectedly quit".  When I launch it from terminal I get the following ...

However if I run it as root ... martin% sudo /Planeshift3D/psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient_static ... It does work correctly.  I have issued the relight command as well because some of the shading doesn't seem to be right, but the shading is still off even after issuing relight.

I have a new MacBook Pro running 10.4.10 with 4 gb of memory, and the new GeForce 8600M GT video chipset.
