Hello everyone !
Since about 4 hours ago I was trying to login but I couldn't !
Keeps telling me "The Server isn't Available" and pinging server Fails !
And minutes ago I just saw it written "Full" instead of "Failed". So I could connect but the servers were full so I couldn't login !
But again after some minutes it returned to "Failed" status !
What's going on ? Is there any changes being applied to server ?
Anyone else had the same Issue today ?

It took a while but we nearly succeeded in eliminating duplicates and now we don't need to rely on them any longer.
Really ? By Duplicates I meant to say this >>>
An example : two recipes A and B can produce 2 different results with the same set of ingredients.
salt + water -> recipe D
salt + water -> potion F
The "mind" slot items let the engine understand you want to get the potion F instead of the recipe D.
If these duplicates are really eliminated why not just take those books away ?
And even if we still can't take this switching away, Because as you said ...
The needs of different books in the mind slot is not just to oblige players to change the collection but it's required by the engine in order to determine which transformation the player wants to get whenever is crafting.
There were already some suggestions to replace this Book + Mind Slot method, Which are more real !

These switches are gonna work Just as books in mind slots. Yeah lets call them Mind Switches !
When one switches his/her/kra's mind switch to Alchemy it's just like when he puts the Alchemy book in his Mind slot !
There are two differences here,
1- One does not need to carry all these books around and doesn't need to get them through Quests. They already exist and switch-able just as a player joins the game !
2- These switches are not gonna work as Reference books. So the player needs to Memorize the recipes or write them down on his very own recipe book. It makes the game a lot more exciting because players have try to find the recipes on their own, or ask other older players about them, And they can even write and sell or distribute their own recipe books, And it's even more exciting when there might be Fake recipe books written by someone so that the player who reads the books doesn't know if it's gonna work :D

Linux Specific Issues / Repair option wants to download win64 files

Hi, I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 and when I press the "Repair" button it wants to download these files which I don't think they are needed on Linux !
Should I download them ? or what ?
Why does it even want to download these windows dll and exe files ?
I smell problem here :|

Ah I see. It doesn't work in 3D Hardware Accelerated programs, like other Games !
So that's why !

And an update about Keyboard Layout problem :
I switched to EN (US) Layout and I can type ' in-game now.

I switched from Windows 8.1 to Linux Ubuntu 14.04 and after one month I could figure it out \\o//
At last, I have installed PS on my OS :D But I see there are two problems here with PS (I Don't have these problems with other Applications ...)

1- Fullscreen Problem : I Use Mate Desktop Environment and I have set "L Alt + Enter" to toggle full screen, which works fine with everything, Even other games. But when I try to use it on PS it doesn't work. This means I have to set it on Launcher and I'm unable to change it in-game, While it works fine everywhere else. I don't know if it's a bug or just something related to my Desktop or Window Manager settings.
Anyone else with this Problem ?   Any Ideas ?

2- Apostrophe : The second problem is that I realized I can't type Apostrophe ( ' ) when in chat. I ve got to write like this :D
I use EN(US) - International keyboard layout, And I can write Apostrophe anywhere else "including here :D ", But it doesn't work in PlaneShift :/
Anyone else with this Problem ?   Any Ideas ?

What you said "koori" is exactly one of the goals of our idea here. But there's a problem here :
"once you have the skill level to make a specific recipe, you will be able to do it ad vitam eternam, regardless of whether you have the book on you, as long as you combine the right ingredients. I believe that makes more sense."
Yeah of course it makes more sense, But the problem is sometimes same actions can craft two or more different things based on which book is in your mind slot, Which is why we suggested those "Switch" things !
Or something like that switch to do the job, Like the UI "CheatCat" mentioned. Anything to make it more real.

And you are right "Bonifarzia", "you always have to keep a difficult balance of realistic, maintainable rules".
If the problem is making Rules and Calculations then I take the responsibility. I can do the calculations and make the rules, So if Developers agree and accept we can use it in game. We can even run some tests and debug these ideas.

Hello, And thank you for your hard work. Without any hesitation and waiting, Let's talk about the suggestions.

We keep this Brief. In this idea ...

01- There will be no Crafting and Technique books anymore. People can start crafting even in the welcome area if they have the resources and tools.
          Why ? >>> To increase Realism, And to bring it closer to something one can call "the most open world game"
     In real world, you won't put a whole book into your mind to craft something. You may have memorized some techniques and recipes !

02- Crafting skills won't affect What a character can make, But affects How they make it. With a low skill, they might break it into pieces, But also have the chance to make it !
          Why ? >>> To increase Realism.
       No one stops someone who knows nothing about smithing from trying to make a sword. He can try it but ... (go to #3)
03- No one knows how to craft things from the beginning. They must search the library for Player written recipes and technique books, Or they must complete quests with trainers, and listen carefully, So that they will learn the methods of crafting.
          Why ? >>> To increase interaction between players, and yet to increase Realism.
       In a real world, There are different ways to learn something. You can learn it from books, or from trainers, or just ask others and try it on your own, And many other ways.

04- Players can write their own technique and recipe books, and even sell them to others.
Well, Devs might be also thinking of a better way to copy books texts, so that it takes longer, for a better realism. Even printing copies of books in real life take longer than loading a .txt file, which is used to copy books in this game.
By the way, We're not here to talk about writing books !
          Why ? >>> To increase interaction between players, And yet the realism.
       In the real world, People write books, And others read. Books are not needed when you are crafting, They are needed to learn the crafting. Once you know how to do it, You may not need it anymore.

5- What about methods which are in common and use books to separate ? (The main function of crafting books)
For example, With the same method and the same materials, You can craft a shield, a blade or a third thing, Just using three different books.
There are different ways to get rid of this problem, I write two of the best ways, One for a better gaming quality, The other for a speedy / easy development.
5-1- The way of Quality, Is to make changes in crafting methods, Remove and Replace all duplicate methods with new ones, Which are closer to reality ! What the new methods will be ? It can be discussed about with players in forums and or between devs.
5-2- The way of Speed, Is to make some Switches, to choose what kind of thing the player is gonna make, Not what exactly, But just the kind and the family of what it's gonna make. We can put these options and switches somewhere in skills menu.
As an Example, For smithing skills, Some of the options will be "Blade Making" & "Shield Making". When the player switches to "Blade Making" option, What happens in codes and programming, is the same that happens when he equips "The Book of the Blades" in his mind slot. But there's no book to read, It's just an option, letting the game know that he wants to make blades. Those options which conflict cannot be equiped at the same time, Even in different skills. Like if there are options which both have formulas for hammering an ingot, They can't be equiped at the same time, Unless all of their conflicting formulas are the same and make the same thing as result.
The other difference with books here, Is that All of these option are available even in the welcome area. Players don't need to complete boring quests to be able to make things, Quests can be there for learning how to make them. They may want to choose an other way to learn.

   In crafting, combining should have its own steps and duration, where a ratio of corresponding items can be combined with one click. The speed of the combining process would depend on how many sets of items are being combined. This would alleviate skills that require many combining steps such as alchemy or herbal, and make them more enjoyable.

   Food takes effort to make and has value to NPCs, but for players it only has roleplay value. Valuable foods don't offer significant effects when they are eaten.[/font]

In-Game Roleplay Events / YCT gone, Thieves & Justiciars

Hi All.
Well, You might have seen those YCT invitations everywhere on the walls and the trees, Specially in Hydlaa.
There was going to be a science group, Yliakum Cosmology Team. A Group of scientists who were gonna research about where they are in the world !
Well, The team was about to start, I made a billboard and table dedicated to this group, And even distributed it's map on all billboards in cities. But when I logged on after some hours, they were just gone !
Well, I tried asking GMs to stabilize them so others won't rob them, But there was no GM online, And when I joined the game after some hours they were all gone, And I & some other guys think maybe someone took them.
Well, I know thieves can be punished by banning in this game. But I want it another way !
This can turn into a great RPing, Two groups form up against each other, as enemies, and they will have their own role playings.

The story goes as this :
After the robbing of YCT HQ, Members of YCT asked the courthouse and the empire to take care of the thieves, But thieves have become so strong and made their guild (Well, Not what we know as Guilds in game !), Their faction actually !
When they ran out of control, A group of fighters gathered together and made their group of justice to get rid of those thieves.
And now ...
We are having a lot of events and RPings between members of these two groups. Players can join any of them, and make their own stories and play their own roles.

Well, Kinda yeah !
Some lots should remains as they are, Like harn's, or the tavern, or guildhouses !
But many can be bought/sold, destroyed/rebuilt by players.

Wish list / Player owned Homes / Lands - Somewhere to stay and store

Hi everyone.
Well, first of all, sorry because I'm not yet one week old to be able to post an idea, But I really couldn't wait for that.
And I already read the wishlist rules, this is the only rule I'm disobeying !
(Searched a lot, There wasn't such idea before !)
So, If admins still think this Idea is really out of mind or something, Please just delete my thread.
Now the Idea ...

Players must be able to buy/sell lands inside/ouside of cities, But it's not like buying homes in other games like Skyrim and likes of that ! It should be so much more expanded, As I will describe.
But why ? (As rules asked a "Because" for every Idea), Because :
1- This is an MMORPG, and we must add to it's realism as much as we can. People have somewhere to stay in the real world, Don't they ?
2- We can get rid of some Decorative NPCs ! Like those standing in front of a building's door and watching, all the day and night, without any quests to give, or dialogues to help you. They certainly can't help as much as a player's character, standing front of his/her home's entrance door just to breath some fresh air and then return to his/her job, can help !
3- People can also have their own shops, Yeah more real looking shops, in which you can discuss about items you're gonna buy/sell with the shop owner, or you can ask for help about finding a shop which has a specific Item & etc. Of course NPC shops will still remain in their place, with their quests and items.
4- It won't be so strange when someone goes offline, anymore ! Well, maybe they're resting in their homes, and need some solitude !!! C'mon man, Why not ? This is a Role Playing game !

But there are questions about this Idea, and the methods it's gonna work. I describe below, as a Q & A >>>
[Q = Question, A = Answer, S = Suggestion]

Q1: What if number of players are as much as there aren't any more space for them to buy lands ?
A1 : There will be limitations. Every player can only buy a limited units of surface, for example 1000 or 100, Which developers define this limitation, Of course They know better about game's uniting system !
Besides, Even if number of players raise as much as there wouldn't be enough space for all of them, Then the map can be expanded, New cities, villages, homes in the woods, and alike. Or even players can sell some land to each other. (These options shall come with the improvement)
S1 : It's better if players have the option to buy this, limited amount of land, divided as more than one lots, in different zones, For example if the limitation is 300, You can have two 150 meters (say, Units !) of land in a city, One as your store/workshop, the other as your home, Or you can have these two lands in two different cities, as two homes.

Q2 : I'm confused, Homes or Empty lands ? Which one are you talking about ?
A2 : It depends, Maybe developers choose homes at first and then upgrade it to lands (Which means new improvements to be able to build a structure with entrance door and interior cells !), Or maybe they choose lands, make the improvements, and upload them once. This is developers' decision.
S02 : Of course choosing the 2nd method (Lands at once) makes less changes through time in game, thus players can safely play the same game it is, until the improvement is ready. But the 1st method has it's advantages, like Players don't need to wait so long to have a place to stay and call home !

Q3 : What happens to city maps ? If this happens, They'll have to change !
A3 : Yeah, Can change over time ! Players buy homes and they may not like it as it is ! So they just change it !!!
They destroy walls, Build new ones, Recolor their homes, Or turn them into shops, Or just turn them to empty lots, Or even public places ! They own it, and do whatever they like to it ! (Of course they'll need some verification from somewhere, like courthouse or government or something before they can change it. As real as it is !).
S3 : It's better to remove some unused structures, Like decorative houses & etc. to have some free space for empty lots. Also city walls can also be expanded a little, providing more free space. Like Hydlaa walls which can be expanded towards north, until they are kinda closer to forest. (That big empty road before entering the forest isn't really needed, Is it ?).

Q4 : Then how will we build our buildings ? How's the process ?
A4 : This one is completely based on how developers can do it. Maybe there can be a, say, Side-App with game for building, Or maybe it can be done online, Or even we might be able to have an in-game construction mode, switching from Character to Land mode, allowing to build things in a great perspective, containing it's own menus and commands.
S4 : One of things we really need to discuss about in this topic, Is the method of building structures.

Q5 : Isn't is so much big and huge for now ? How much time does this project need to be done ?
A5 : Again, Depends on how developers work. Of course I and surely many others try to help them as much as we can, But is it as big as the game itself ?? I don't think so.
They built this huge game, They did it the best way, So they can do this one too.

The last note : How to distribute the lands ?
This one is also based on what developers think.
My suggestion is that empty lands can be sold in units, and already built structures need to be sold in one piece !
One can empty his built home (turn it to an empty land), then sell a part of a half of it !

In the end, I shall notice that this isn't but an Idea.
This can be accepted or not, But those who like it, I ask them to help developers to pass it.
We all want this game to advance, And become the one which all RPers love.
The dream of Role Playing !!! :D
