May 6, 2007 - Server Down for new release (v 0.3.19)

The client works fine, and logging in is fine, but whenever you click on something, it does not respond or anything.


EDIT: Hmm, I think it may be fixed now.

EDIT2: Actually no its not fixed, what is going on with the server? Huuuuge lag

EDIT3: Okay, right now(May 7 - ) when trying to log in at the main screen after loading up the client, the server will have "failed" next to it therefore you are unable to log in until updates are finished I guess...

CrystalSpace is being recompiled on the server at the moment, and NPCclient will also be stopped because we need as much CPU power as we can have.

The server is going to be unavailable soon due to a client release, and dev testing on Laanx

Oh cool. I've been waiting for the new release. (I hope the Mac version comes out as quickly as it has been coming recently.) Maybe this will solve some problems I've been having.

An update for you guys:

Some of you may know that a major inventory rewrite has been done for this release, and a few weird problems have already been discovered (I swear for the first half hour none of it just made sense  ). It's very doubtful that a public client will be ready in a day, although the team will try to have everything polished ASAP. Patience is asked of everyone while these issues are cleaned :)

Okay, I'd like to clarify a few things, just so I understand.

1. The server is down because of recompiling.

2. Is there a new release underway, i.e. the server is being configured for the new release?

3. The Mac OS X client will not be released for some time — probably several days — after the new release is released?
 
follow-up: Will  Mac Users be able to log on with the old client?

The server has already been recompiled for the new client, but it's down to the public because we need to continue internal testing to find some of the more major bugs. Once all the big issues that would impede gameplay are fixed, an official client will be packaged and the server will be open for the players.

Word on the mac client will have to come from dfryer. However, you will not be able to log on using old versions of your client regardless of your platform. The server only accepts the newest client.

Thanks Rongar, i often check that page, but it doesnt have the info im after, like eg. ive been told repair armour will be implemented this update, but i was curious what else, like any other skills or such

Typically in past updates, they don't us anything really becuase they are evil and like us to wait in suspense.   

Sooooo, other than the changelog and rumors, guess you'll just have to wait.  Or marry a dev and force them to give you the inside scoop.

The inventory's code changed, not the art. So it looks the same
