Excessive server crashing due to isse with fall damage (August 04, 2007)

I know that a lot of the time you just have to wait for the server to restart itself, but the crashing is getting excessive. Every minute or two (literally) the server goes down. I have been sent back to the same spot so many times it's not even funny anymore. ::| I think the problem may be with tells. Every time I sent or received a tell the server went down not long after. Whatever is causing the crash I don't think it is something that will fix itself, I think someone needs to take a look at it.  :sweatdrop:

If it were /tells it would be down more often than every minute or two.

It's not memory - evidently it's fall damage that is the culprit. So everyone just has to ... not... fall.. for a while, if you want the server up ;)

Kayden is figuring it out at the moment.

No, neko, /tell'ing didn't cause the crashes. That fix you quoted was for another kind of using /tell, I'd be surprised and alarmed if Illysia knew about it.

Nilaya has fixed the issue as far as I know, now it needs to be applied to Laanx.

i had this crazy thought... if fall damage is what causes it to crash, umm i don't know how about disabling it... i bet people would be ok with falling 90 ft and surviving aslong as the server doesnt crash every 3 min.. i could look past the unrealistic falls .. but the server has to online for me to look past anything.....

Why would someone want to marry an NPC - which may be a merchant as well as an animal? ... :D

Orino: That issue has already been taken care of. If the server is being unstable now, it's for another reason.

LigH: I don't think NPCclient and Superclient are the same thing..
