Server always down on Sundays

I am rather new around here but so far all Sundays there seems to be the same issue: the server just fails and appears to be recovering (only to fail again in few seconds) all the day round.

Ironically the server page often reports it to be active... but always with a very low number of users 30-40 apparently logged in. The log-in screen often appears with a % figure after the number that follows "Fragnetics" (example: "Fragnetics 432 12%", not sure what these number mean) and, with or without this circumstance, is virtually impossible to complete a log in anyhow.

Why does this happen? Does it have any solution?

The weekend is when we have the most time to work on the server, so it may be unavailable for some maintenance. It's not a set schedule, and sometimes it can be pure coincidence that the server is down or acting iffy on these days.

What I find strange is that issue of not being clearly up or down but in some sort of up/down unstability most of the time.

Answer to the number question in parentheses: I believe that is the ping. You want it as low as possible. Mine usually says 300 something.
