Hello people,
I saw that in the game when you say something everyone can hear it...
Well I have a better idea for this:
There should be 3 speaking methods:
whispering: using a /w before what you want to whisper (or something like that),only ppl who are in a range of let\'s say 3 feet from the one who whispers hear his whisper. And let\'ssay 3-5 feet away from him will hear only part of his whisper.

Regular: you just write it normal and ppl that are within range of let\'s say 15 feet from will hear you, and 15-25 will hear part of it.

Shouting: using a /s before what you want to shout, ppl within a range of 90 feet from you will hear and 90-140 will hear part of your shout.

Part means that just some of the letter will show up...

So what do you think?

good idea, but shouldn\'t there be a 4th option to say important things to everyone in the world, or isn\'t that roleplaying anymore?
Well, I guess people would just abuse something like talking worldwide.

there are commands sort of like that:

/say - talk to people in your immediate vicinity
/shout \"  \" in your sector
/guild \"  \" in your guild
/group \"  \" in your group

I do like your idea of hearing only part of what is whispered if you are not close enough though.

erhm and a /page would be nice.. so you could send people privat messages :>.. and erhmm of course a /market because else the /shout would be flooded with advertisings..

Hmmm that\'s pretty good, so the default is /speak right?

And about the idea of just part of the thing you said shows up (when you\'re too far): you do a random, of the number of letters in what you said, let\'s say the number of letters in what you said / 3 times, and then you only print the letters that are in the numbers that came out in the random, the other letters it will show as blank.

I dont like the /say thing. /say should be the defult seeing as that is what will be done more than other things.

But maybe it will be hard to make that things..

/auction is in fact already implemented.

/say is already the default if you don\'t put a command.

If you want good roleplaying you should only be able to send private messenges in you direct environement. So no from the 1st to the 5th level or something... that wouldn\'t be so good i think... can be abused for all kind of reasons.

Heck, have the font fade based on distance such that it\'s harder to read stuff from people further away speaking softer. Eventually, of course, it\'d taper off to nothing,
