Bestest. Thread. Ever. :P

I have hundreds of ideas for weird, cool weapons that I invented (well, conceptually anyway. I'm not blacksmith... or whoever/whatever actually makes them nowadays). The only problem is they can be a little hard to describe...

Here's one of my favourites. It's a simple, circular flick-knife type thing used my one of my characters... (Though not one in Planeshift)

Basically, it's about the size of a chakram (maybe a little smaller). It has the same 'ying-yang' design as the one in the picture, except half of the ying-yang is the folded-in blade. It's black around the outside (a kind of polymer - hard and lightweight, yet not slippery - like kevlar)) and also along the divider (like in Xena's one) which allows it to be gripped either from the outside or the middle.
Then, with a flick of the wrist (or with my character, usually with one finger - like spinning a revolver), the blade can be flicked out and used either as a kind of large circular dagger, or a frisbee of death :P The blade is also shaped like one half of a yin-yang, and  is serrated along the edge (for bone-sawing :P).

If you want I can do a simple diagram...

Hehe, Cool. I like the axe.
Right now I'm modellig a bunch of weapons, hopefully I'll use them later on in Torque. But the .dts exporter is a real bitch to get isnstalled on Mac for some reason. lack of Scripts folder for some odd reason.

A couple were textured... I went and just put random textures without mapping on a sword a while ago. That was kinda funny.

Hmm, here's a very simple (and very illogical :P) diagram:

The blade is horizontally inverted (it should be facing the other direction) but you get the idea...

Have fun :D

Not sure this is what you wanted, but I kinda liked it. Tell me if you want it redone or somethin. Cause I can.

~The Emerald Soul Harvester~  ;D

I could make it dual blades, each side pops open.
And I did this one in haste, much haste. Lemme take some more time on it if you want, I could have a good one by tommorrow..

I've been hoping to see sort of a polearm Axe. A long axe that sort of the length of a pike of some kind with an axe blade on the end. The other end could be a blunt end good for jabbing. Could be used to sweep/swing from a distance as well as fairly close range combat. Just a thought.
"I spend days in this grubby mine, but where am I going? Where did I come from? Hitting a dirt wall is not the way to find out" Soripe stares at his rock pick for a moment "But I won't get very far without tria, better get back to mining" as he swings at the loose dirt in search of gold.

Sweet! That is like my dream weapon. I think a mage/sorcerer type with a polearm axe is just a fascinating character design. It good for the look of a staff/scepter type of thing with functionality at a distance (due to the frail nature of a mage/sorcerer).

Yeah, that'd be sweet. Oh, emerald, I just realized how bad I screwed yer weapon. I'm gonna give it an overhaul, and do Soripes along with it. Geez, I just noticed that. Verson 2, coming up next. And a mages Poleaxe.

Try taking more time over your work. You'll get alot more satisfaction from a pice you have taken a long while over than pumping out 20 in the same amout of time.
