Recognition
« on: January 26, 2004, 02:24:01 pm »
This may have been posted once already but I will post it here anyway because I\'m not going to read through all the threads.  I believe that you shouldn\'t be allowed to see the name of a player unless you actually meet them and ask for their name.  Once done you use a simple /recog name command and you will be able to see that players name from then on.  This will encourage roleplaying and interaction between players as well as present a more realistic scenario for interaction.  This idea is used in a few other games as well.

I think this is the second time I\'ve posted an idea in the Wish List...

I like that idea, maybe in a slightly different form like:

- /recog name will be set automatically after you interact with a person.

- or more logically looking at the game right now, the people in your buddylist and/or guild (using different colours to specify)

well why didn\'t you just bump that thread?

Anyways, in CB you will be completely public(like in MB). :(

But remember, there won\'t be free PvP, so you have nothing to fear.  :D  ;)

But it\'s something to look into for future releases.  I just think recognition would provide a much atmosphere for the game.

I agree with you Aendar.
But I believe you should give people your name with the /greet command.
No need for an additional command.

Also, you should see the names of people in your guild or group without having to /greet each one.
