At least I understood some of it. I have a British friend, and I have an idea that he is able to do them right as well, so I will try to get him to explain them the next time I see him. But knowing some basics is nice! :-)

I know, I know, I'm shallow, but my biggest pet peeve (when I waited tables in Highschool), was when elderly people would order "srimp".

Adding mine to this list since this old thread came back:

I can hardly believe how many even native english speakers don't know the difference between lose and loose.
Loose means something that's not tight or not attached. My belt is so loose my pants fell off. Knock that blade loose from her hand.
Lose is used when something is lost. You will lose the duel if you fight Sanxx. If you leave your sword there, you may lose it.
