You have exported it as genmesh, spr3d probably would look differntly (possibly better).
For genmesh instead of <localshadows/> put <noshadows/>, it will make it look better (bright). You may also want to add <autonormals/>, to make surface of the model smooth.
Edit: Try also <lighting>no</lighting>, it may give better result than noshadows.
BTW: 324 triangles for spear is too many IMO. I don't know, if You remember model of my creature, which had similar number of triangles
