GUI-MOD
« on: August 25, 2007, 09:08:01 am »
Hey

I modified the Info-Window and the Skill&Stats-Window.

Added to the Infowindow total Trias, Progression Points and Weight

Changed the whole segmentation of the Skill&Stats-Window, because in my opinion the bars and vitalnumbers are not as important as the skills

Here is the link to the second picture

The Link to the download is here

Sadly, the install-descreption is still only in german

Have Fun with it

Edit: I taked the second picture out of the post to make the thread better to read

Very nice, A job well done!  :flowers:

And Heaven in a wild flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.

Yeah. the listing of more than 4 skills at the same time is always a good idea.
I also like how the background is done... hmm, I would like it, if it was two backgrounds, not one. One normal and second with high transparency and the rounded edges.
just like i did there

And speaking about skillwindow

It has background i'm going to change anyway, but same as yours, my point was to display more skills.

Vertical layout of the tabs could be a good idea, only the only code i know for this, won't turn the words 90 deegres, but make them display like there is enter after each. Thats something too, but i never liked it enough to use.
Also, it would be possible to make separate images for each tab, though, with text part of the graphics. But i believe it is not worth the memory usage, because if used there, someone could think about similiar idea for all other windows ;P

Maybe some, or all of the stuff will be implemented and no mods needed anymore.

Oh, If someone didn't find out yet. All xmls are in the same dir as the images.

Welcome to the forums, Naekis!

Unfortunately, your link doesn't work for me - it simply returns nothing. Do I need to be registered in this board to get a download? Or do I need to have visited a page there before?

@ Ralleyon:
Thank you  :D

@ Nikodemus:
I know your thread with your skillwindow, it was the one which inspired me to my one. About the backround; it was the easiest way to get a backround which was not the best but acceptable, I'm not good in graphics. Sadly I don't no anything about xml, I only copied and pasted and changed some numbers of position, high/width, and so on. It was many try and some error at the evening yesterday when i did it.

@ LigH:
Sorry, I can't say why it don't work for you. Please try the long way, here is the link to the forum
http://orderforum.or.funpic.de
On the left side is a topic named "OOC Inhalte", below it is a "Downloads"-link, click it. The next link to click is "Planeshift Addons" and there are the modified widgets stored.
I hope it works this way

When I click on "Downloads", nothing returns - in Opera.

I don't know if there is a check if I am using "Internet Explorer or Mozilla". And that doesn't care for Opera?!

When I set Opera to "Identify as Opera", I get an empty page. I have to set this page to "Identify as Firefox" or "Identify as Interent Explorer", I get a download page.

I have had the same issue like LigH.
On my Linux-box I got an apparent empty page with my default webbrowser Opera.
I pasted the adress into Konqueror and it worked like a charm.

Very odd, but finally got that file downloaded - that screenshot up there looks great and I cant wait to test it ingame.
So far Naekis, good work!

That's a really really big window... It's the opposite of what I would want in a GUI.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Sorry, Karyuu, it has got the normal height of 500, but the width is decreased by 15%, only 370.
Maybe the screenshot is to big.
The high is easy to change, there are just less skills to see than at once.

That doesn't look like a height of 500 at all :P Yeah, there's no need to show all the skills at once like that. Scrolling is common to save space. If you increase the width a bit you could also fit the health/mana/stamina/etc numbers right after the bars instead of below.

Any possibility to make the skills list bump the currently used skills to the top, so for instance when you are fighting you can see amor and weapon bars progress. As is now, if you have to scroll down to see the skill, the list pops automatically to the top when the skill pregresses.

Now via a bug that sometimes rears its head, I haven't figured out how it recurs, this does happen. where the highlighted skill from the bottom is placed on top of the list, ie metallurgy or medium armor.

ok, last idea for this morning

The widget is width="370" height="360", I don't know why the image is bigger.
It's build on Fontscaling 75% right now and I used the default-skin with a customized "minigame.png" as "skills.png".
